They serve some Hawaiian food and the portion was huge!! Can definitely share one dish between two people for smaller eaters. The food quality was okay. The place is very close to the airport so it is a good idea to visit the place before leaving maui!

Just returned from Maui and decided to give Da Kitchen in Kihei a try after reading the reviews. My family of 4 ordered two fish and chips dinners to share. We got more than enough food. Fries were piled on top of several fish fillets. Dipped in some malt vinegar...DELISH! The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food... More

We really enjoyed our meal here. The food was great. The portions were large. Food prepared pretty quick. We had Musubi, Chicken Katsu, Loco Moco.Decent prices. Limited Gluten free options available. Highly recommended. Give them a try. Support the locals. You can always eat at the big chain restaurants when you are back home.

We went after hearing its reputation on TV. The portions were generous. They push the food out pretty quick. The quality of the food was suitable. They had a lot of variety on the menu. Its a good break from overpriced, more formal restaurants in Maui.

Da kitchin (Kihei) is in a strip mall off of the main street. The food is tasty and there are interesting twists on local favorites (e.g., deep fried spam musubi). The prices are above average for local food, but it provides a tourist-friendly local experience.

Ordered the traditional Hawaiian dish Laulau for take out lunch. The dish is pork and butterfish steamed in taro leaves. One of the 2 "packets" had no fish at all, the other only had a tiny piece of fish. One of the chunks of pork was a 50% glob of fat. There was plenty to eat with the included mac... More

Food is great. Consider sharing a plate. They're BIG. Great casual place. Not fancy dinner. Was annoyed that soda refills are a dollar. Really? The food is not that cheap to charge for refills.

Breakfast was good. I ordered a local dish - hamburger with fried eggs on top, gravy, with bed of rice. I swear that dish weighed like 5 pounds. No way I could eat it all. Only about half the burger, almost no rice. Was like a Salisbury steak. Kids and wife all had regular breakfast - eggs, bacon, potatoes, sweet... More

We found Da Kitchen the first time we came to Maui in 2008. We make it a point to come back every time we're in Kihei. I always get the Kalua Pork plate lunch (yeah, I'm in a rut there, but I love Kalua Pork). I've never been disappointed! It's also reasonably priced.
