It is a small simple calm sushi restaurant in a shopping mall and the sushi and sashimi (fresh fish) was to die for. It is fun to find a chef that cares about every meal he serves. It is made to order so it takes a while. The waitress (one for the small restaurant) was extremely nice and efficient. Reservations... More

Nothing out of the ordinary for us. We're from Seattle, so we are pretty spoiled with good sushi. Definitely an upgrade from conveyor belt places...the sushi chef took pride in his work which was nice to see, but like most things Maui...it was spendy.

Pros: amazing, fresh, melt-in-your mouth fresh fish. To me, that's probably one of the most important factors in sushi. Cons: service was eh, but I wasn't expecting much and it was in Hawaii where most service is slow, so I can overlook that. However, most of the other non-sushi items were mediocre, namely their ramen and udon noodles. I understand... More

Around their closing time is when we went I guess towards the end of the night the freshness has left the food the waitress was rude from the very start I even try to smile at her but she had a frown like no one's business . After the long wait my salmon eggs came and it was just WRONG... More

Walked into this small restaurant at around 8 pm one night after reading all the great reviews. The restaurant wasn't even full and had a couple of empty tables but we were told we would not get food at least an hour later. After reading all the reviews, we were not surprised by it so we sat at the sushi... More

Oh My Gosh!! I was a little shocked when I looked at the prices however when I saw my rainbow roll... with 1/4 in large overlapping slices of sashimi I was in heaven. It was all I could eat... it was at least 4 x more fish than I usually get. Then my hubby had the shrimp tempura rolls and... More

I am hesitant to write this review, knowing that it may make my wait time even longer than it usually is. But, it is true, this is the absolute best sushi on Maui. I have eaten a LOT of sushi, including in Japan, and Sushi Paradise is my favorite. Yeah yeah theres a long wait, and yes it appears to... More

This is a small storefront in a strip mall, but don't let that deter you. This a one man show done with care and the finest quality fresh fish. We will be back! You must have reservations, and a willingness to wait up to an hour to get your sushi.

The spanish mackerel and spicy scallop roll were new to us and delicious. You need to make a reservation but don't plan on eating soon. The chef takes his time. Get some sake or beer and relax. The atmosphere is strip mall but the food is delicious and fresh. The service is, well, gruff at times but go with the... More

Sushi chef/owner crafts 5 star sushi, on par with Masa in NYC. Great value for the money. No ambience, except great experience watching master sushi chef crafting his food before your eyes!
