Best surprise in the area

I found that place by looking the review here. And I totally agree with everyone. This place is where I had one of the best taco I had in my life, even at home, they are not as good. I stayed in Kahana area and I didn't have any problem to drive 45 min to go get there food.

Found this on Trip Advisor... without TA, there is now way we would have found Coconuts Fish Cafe. Truly a Locals establishment and the food was outstanding and a great value. When you place an order of fish tacos, it comes out on two separate plates! Each taco has a generous helping of Mahi with a mild cole slaw finished... More

Amazing tacos. Fresh, cooked perfectly with delicious sauce. Macadamia crusted Mahi delectable. Good one to share. Don't miss the onion rings and tartar sauce. Like no other.

Everything they say it is, best tasting fish tacos hands down. Basic, but pleasant surroundings, have to share a table, but everyone is super friendly and happy to be there. Ordered the basic fish taco which comes in two tacos and could be shared if not hungry, but once you start eating it would be hard on to finish both.... More

Super fresh and plentiful servings at friendly prices served by friendly staff...the owner is hands-on and makes sure everyone is HAPPY. But it is sometimes a long wait and a jangled atmosphere. This is great island food at mainland prices and the scene is a friendly but unromantic.

My son recommended the fish tacos so we stopped by to try them. They were the best I have ever had. Loved all of the wonderful delicious relishes. Yummy! Would not recommend the fries, nothing special and quite like McDonalds.

We'd had fish tacos back on the mainland a few years ago and had read and heard that this was the place for the BEST fish tacos. It's true, they are awesome. The restaurant is a little small but that doesn't stop people from sitting at tables with strangers that soon become friends sharing a meal. Best tasting mango salsa... More

Loved the mahi mahi sandwich for lunch at Coconuts! Prepared just right, all sorts of condiments available, surfboard tables, and you need lots of napkins. Wished we would have stumbled on it earlier in our Maui visit, because we would definitely be repeat customers! Next time!

Large portion with chunks of grilled fish, cabbage slaw, and a fresh mango salsa, lightly fried corn tortilla... best fish tacos of our two week visit. Hubby got the fish and chips that were half the price and twice as good as the upscale honu seafood company on front street. Found no faults, a good choice for a tasty meal.
