Vietnamese sandwiches use light and fluffy french-style baguettes. I found the baguettes at this bakery a bit heavy, and unfortunately old and stale.

Im Vietnamese and was looking for some Pho in Maui. This place has good Pho and the sandwiches were not too bad. I also tried Pho Saigon 808 in Lahaina which got great reviews. Pho Saigon 808's Pho was not good. The spices they used was just star anise and they were missing cardamom and cinnamon spices. All the other... More

My husband wanted a Vietnamese sandwich as he always gets one back home in Toronto. We usually get them for $2. Here he paid just over $6!! He got the special, which i believe was beef ribs. Nothing special to write about. The ones we get are better in quality. So if you're ever in Toronto, let me know and... More

Based on raw steak pho at both locations, this one is not nearly as good as what we've been served at the Kahului location. Pho broth is (or is supposed to be) very complex, and this one simply wasn't, even after adding all the greenery and sauces. The menu is the same at both locations. We had a chicken salad... More

I find out about Ba-Le from positive reviews on another site. I got the the Teriyaki beef sandwich and it was delicious. Most importantly the French Bread was crispy and tasty. It is worth taking the quick side trip to Wailuku for this treat.

They won't answer the vegan questions. They won't tell you if there's egg or dairy in their food.

We love this chain of Vietnamese reataurants. The one on Big Island is consistently good at it's Pilani Road location but the Maui one surpasses it. The location in a food court is a definite bonus - you can opt for local fare or Mexican if Pho is not your thing . I love the vegetarian tofu rolls and always... More

Great authentic beef noodle soup. People who like 'the other' Hawaiian BBQ should give this place a try - they won't be disappointed.

I've done quite a bit a work very close to the mall and over the last few trips to Maui, this place has become my go to lunch/ dinner spot. The Pho is very good. I liked the fried rice and their steak sandwich is great. The price is right and the people are very friendly. Not fancy dining, but... More

Located in the Safeway plaza, this is an "order at the counter and grab a seat or take it to go" kind of place with an overwhelming number of Vietnamese dishes with local influence to choose from. Sandwiches actually seem to play second fiddle to the huge number of noodle and soup dishes offered, as well as fried rice, spring... More
