Da Kitchen is a place for very big appetites. The "two scoops" of rice on the plate lunches could easily serve four normal people as a side dish. Good rice, but too much. Nice mac salad. Green salad small and not very good, just there to appease those who don't want all the starch. Laulau pork is good but fatty.... more

Oh this place is great. Very large portions of local styled food, great tastes, what’s not to love. They always have specials written up on the chalk board so take a look. And no, you won’t leave hungry, my may need to be taken out in a wheel barrel. I recommend the short ribs. The only drawback is the small... more

We went here on a Saturday at 11:30am. The place opened at 11:00am and it was packed with people waiting outside by noon. Even though the location is in a strip mall, the inside feels like an island eatery. Awards for "best of" are on every wall, everywhere. Mostly local residents were dining there and that is ALWAYS a great... more

Based on tripadvisor reviews, I was all excited about this locals' place and we headed straight there from the airport. But basically all aspects of our experience were a letdown! My husband ordered the Hawaiian plate, and it was so bad that "lau lau" became our term for "bad" for the rest of the trip! So, we had no consistent... more

We stop here every time we come to Maui, on the way or coming back from the airport or a helicoptor tour. There can be a wait. And with good reason. The food is incredibly delicious and the portions are gi-normous. You won't find many tourists here, which means it's authentically good Mauian (my word, apologies) grub. Last time I... more

We found out about Da Kitchen from the ladies at Costco. We had a little trouble finding it, but we able to get right in and be seated. We were starving after coming off the plane and doing shopping at Costco and Da Kitchen hit the spot. There were six of us and we had a variety of dishes from... more

I wanted to update a previous review. First of all you go to Hawaii to experience their food and culture. Not your own culture. If that is the case stay home/ If you want Italian food you go to Italy. Locals in Hawaii seem to be large. This is how they eat. This is what the locals eat and this... more

My family & I flew in on Saturday from mainland, first stop after getting the luggage and rental car was Da Kitchen. We haven't been in 3 years, it was just as we remembered; the Combo plate was huge, with 2 scoops of rice, your choice of green salad or mac salad, kalua pork, terriyaki chicken and spam. It was... more
