nice setting-average food

the restaurant at the Travaasa resort is the only game in town. it is very upscale for the Hana area, which generally has a hippy atmosphere. the food is average but the service was very good and the prices are terribly overpriced.

The only restaurant open in Hana at 8 pm and the only place to get food, other than the gas station. We entered a half empty dining room, to be told we could not be seated until 8:30, so we sat in the lounge, which was pleasant. The items we ordered were very nicely prepared and presented, but very pricey... More

We only spent one night at the hotel and did not know where to eat. It was suggested that we eat in their restaurant. The food was delicious. I would recommend this place to eat. Yummm

the atmosphere was soothing, the view was very pleasant and the food was enjoyable. While the service seemed slow (perhaps intentionally) all in all it was a good choice for lunch in hana

The Travaasa Hotel is a decent property, though a bit dated, the restaurant has great views of the ocean, the bar area is nice and pleasant, and the service is excellent. Despite the great location and the nice restaurant facility, the food is overrated and overpriced! My fish dish ($45) was tasty and they accommodated my dietary restrictions - the... More

Food was very fresh and well prepared. The chef was very creative and the menu had a wide selection of choices.

We at lunch here after a long day of driving the windy road to Hana from Lahaina. It seemed like the only place that was not a food truck or out of a small shack by the beach. My burger was perfectly cooked, and my husband liked his 3 fish tacos as well. You could see the ocean from the... More

Great ambiance, excellent service.....food is just OK. This was probably the most expensive dining experience we had on Maui, this trip. The ambiance and the price leads one on to believe it will a phenomenal dining experience......WRONG! Not sure how management can sleep nights charging such an outrageous amount for such mediocre quality food.

Although the ambience of the hotel and restaurant was lovely, the food was almost unbelievably bland. Amongst a group of four we tried three different dishes: chicken, steak and tuna. It was as though the chef had not even used salt to spice the meal, let alone any other interesting flavourings. We sat for 15 minutes or more waiting for... More

Weird place. Very slow service. $15 Mai Tai's for nothing special, don't bother. We ordered Sweet potato chips with guacamole. Interesting, quite different and I enjoyed. A little skimpy on the portion though, we asked for more chips so we could enjoy the rest of the guacamole. Considering this place is kind of slow and people are standing around doing... More
