Excellent Thai Food

We were there in March 2015. Truly a hole in the wall, but with the best and cheapest food you will find on Maui. They have specials each day and serve cold beverages out of iced down coolers. Actually, you serve your own beverages, but they will serve you their food from chafing pans.

We went a couple hours ago and had trouble finding any trace of this place. Looks like they've been gone at least a month. Confirmed by a local...gone. Bummer!

it was fine but the coffee was too strong and undrinkable, she said it was Thai coffee so I gave it a try

No really, I mean it. I have traveled all over the world and dined in many many Thai restaurants. I've never tasted anything so good or so authentic (outside of Thailand) as Pranee's little hut along the roadside. The spicy green mango/papaya salad topped with fried fish is to die for. Just writing this review is making me want to... More

Really good Thai food. Sometimes can be a bit too spicy. Have to make it clear to server to pass the word to the chef to tone it done or just not add any pepper at all. Thais love hot but this isn't Thailand.

The same building is shared by Pranee and Nutcharee - half each day. Once they run out of the special for the day- you can only order from the menu. You definitely want to get there before they run out of the special though- its beyond yummy. There is nothing frilly about this location- some seating in the open-walled building... More

This lady knows what's up when it comes to thai food. I've never had such an amazing meal...in a hut. A serious MUST!

The first thing about Thai Food By Pranee is the setting. It is dining al fresco on patio or under the large palm frond covered, open air "A-Frame." It is fine dining East Maui, style. And when I mean one of best Thai preparations available, including Thailand from Chang Mai, to Chang Rai, to Bangkok. The Crispy Opaka Paka (Fresh... More

The food was great... the panang curry was particularly good :-) However, the prices reflect that you are here and there's really nowhere else to go... I'd prefer them to be a bit more realistic with the prices... this was the most expensive lunch we've had in 2 weeks in the Hawaiian Islands and the location is a covered table... More
