Up in Waimea Canyon. This is a great little lodge in the State Park. Down at the Ocean it's 80 degrees, you get to the lodge, and it's 50-60. So fun to experience the contrast. We have had many fantastic lunches here. I always loved the Portugese Bean Soup and the Peach Salad. Nothing fancy, very rustic, and perfect for... More

It was lunch time on Sunday, the restaurant was crowded with tourists and the parking lot was full. We entered the restaurant and seated ourselves at a table that previous guests have just left. The server took the dirty dishes, but did not clean the table. We had to ask her to clean. We got menus, decided what we want... More

The Kokee lodge restaurant is a nice spot to relax after a hike or chow down a guilt-free carbo-bomb right before you know you are heading off for a long exploration. Be Aware that the dining room closes at 2:30, we ended up with take-out. Local style chili over white sticky rice. Wow..you better go for a walk. I have... More

This place has a captive audience as the only place to eat in the Kokee State Park. It appears they know this. I was not expecting anything better than a Denny's type experience. We didn't even get close to that. The waitress which apparently had to wait on the entire dining room had a scowl on her face most of... More

We stopped here after exploring the Waimea Canyon. We were absolutely starving and went to Koke'e Lodge for lunch. I read many reviews and everyone said to get the chili and cornbread which we did and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious! It was real comfort food and it hit the spot! Not to mention it was really... More

We stopped here to take a break during our Waimea Canyon touring. Enjoyed it - nice, spacious property, the food was good and service friendly. A nice pit stop - roosters and chickens roamed around too. The museum next door is worth seeing - excellent displays and lots of history about the area, wildlife etc.

I have read the reviews but I must disagree. The guidebooks said to have the Portuguese bean soup or the pork sandwich, We had both. Bleah. They also suggested the pie. We had that. Bleah. And we got stuck with a huge bill. So I wil be honest here: the guidebooks and on-line resources led us to believe this would... More

This is the PERFECT place to stop for a bite to eat after the breathtaking views of the Waimea Canyon. The prices are refreshingly reasonable, particularly given the fact that they sure have a monopoly on the location. As our favorite guidebook says, this restaurant is ranked #1 out of 1 restaurants in the area. I remember our lunch being... More
