absolutely lovely

This is a lovely spacious indoor and outdoor lobby area where you don't have to fight for seats. Great drinks, beautiful views and tasty sushi. I'll miss this place!

Beautiful view of Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai anytime, but sunset is amazing in the summertime. This is a pricey venue, but well worth it for the ambiance and view. They also have someone saber a bottle of champagne at sunset. Drinks and pupus are great. We love the sushi & sliders. Be sure to arrive well before sunset if... More

Get here early (5:30) for a seat on the outdoor terrace and watch the sun set behind Makana mountain, otherwise know as Bali Hai, and get an up close view of the champagne sabering as a bonus. While drinks aren't cheap you're paying for the location and the view, which is the best in Princeville.

Took over an hour for my wife and I to have 2 drinks and 1 appetizer. While we were waiting for our non-existent waitress to come back to us, we were bombarded by a wild hippie who tried to tell me that the Boston police used excessive force when capturing the marathon bombing suspect. Not a good experience overall.

Our family of seven visited the bar area to watch the beautiful sunset. We decided to have some snacks and a mai-tai. Our little guys had a ball with their "roy rogers" and helping the adults in scarfing down the delicious pupus. The total price (including one of each of almost all the different hors d'oeuvres!) was very reasonable. The... More

As most other reviewers have noted, the defining feature of the Nalu Kai restaurant and bar is its glorious view of Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay. One pays a price for the ambiance, but it was worth it to us. The food is good and the drinks are potent. As guests at the Hanalei Bay Resort next door, we found... More

Could there be a more perfect location for a bar? I doubt it. The view overlooking Hanalei Bay towards Puff The Magic Dragon and the mountains beyond is marvelous, especially at sunset. The drinks are good, although expensive. The bar menu is limited and frankly isn't anything special. But then, that's not why you're there. Right?

The drinks are well prepared but pricey and the food is a mixed bag. The sushi rolls are delicious and the wagyu sliders are a tasty lot, but the pork belly is so overcooked and tough you best ensure one of your evening partners is versed in the Heimlich maneuver. Enjoying your beverages outdoors yields a mesmerizing view that will... More

Watched an awesome sunset from the bar patio/balcony. Open seating for guests and non guests...had sliders (meh) and a sunset sushi platter (delish) and a few mai tais. Cocktails were $16 each (excluding tip) and I think the food items were a little more. The St. Regis is a beautiful place but the prices aren't for the feint of heart.... More

Adept at making a good drink. Service was spot on and the view from the terrace was great -- be warned, it fills up early. Like the Kauai Grill, this is a great place to watch the sun set. A small jazz type combo was playing on the night we visited so that added to the ambiance. You may be... More
