Friends recommended we eat here at least once, so we went there our first day on the island at noon. The hotel and the scenery were so lovely, we ate there 2 more times. It helped that we stayed very close by, but we LOVED the view, the friendly service, and I thought the food was very good. We split... more

We went to Cafe Hanalei for our anniversary dinner. Our initial reservation was for 6:30 pm, but we had such a good table on the lanai of The Living Room Bar that we didn't want to leave. My husband went to the see hostess/host at Cafe Hanalei and they were great. They instructed us to come down whenever we were... more

Any view of a Hawaiian sunset is spectacular, but you can enjoy excellent food, above average service, and an unbeatable view of Hanalei Bay from the Cafe Hanalei. The dishes were generally expensive, but could be purchased as a three-course-meal for $58 per person. You will be paying not only for high-quality ingredients and gorgeous presentation, but also a full... more

The review gets the good rating for the setting and location--not so much for the food. We enjoy coming to Cafe Hanalei for the great breakfast buffet. This says a great deal as we typically are loathsome of buffets. The lunch is mediocre and very expensive. I expect the high prices in a resort setting. You can find a much... more

While the food is nothing to really rave about, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. My hubby & I stayed in the hotel, so on the first morning, ate breakfast downstairs. I'm not a big breakfast person, just like to get started with some fresh fruit and whole grains, and the breakfast buffet was too pricey for that. We enjoyed a... more

My husband and I did a Sunday brunch at Cafe Hanalei while we were visiting Kauai. We learned about Cafe Hanalei from a lady at our hotel that gave us a timeshare presentation (we saved $100 on one of our activities and got this great tip on Cafe Hanalei just for sitting and listening for an hour - well worth... more

This was our first time at this particular restaurant and my goodness! The view took our breaths away! We arrived at the tail end of breakfast and unfortunately, missed the brunch buffet. It looked amazing though. Our table was on the center edge of the lanai, a prime but windy spot. It took our waitress a long time to take... more

Had lunch at Cafe Hanalei last friday. Is the food special? It's ok. Expensive? Of course. Our 2 hour lunch was about $80 with tip. But what a view even with the intermitant rain showers. Amazing thing -- with this breathtaking view, the couple at the next table spent most of their lunch on their individual Blackberrys, busily text-messaging (maybe... more

We stayed in a condominium near the Princeville hotel and for the most part, prepared our own food in the condo kitchen, having found a great fresh fish market attached to Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant. However, we wanted to eat out two nights of our stay. A friend who lived in Kauai recommended the seafood buffet on Friday evenings at Cafe... more

Fantastic restaurant with incredible views of Hanalei Bay. The Sunday brunch buffet features an incredibly wide selection of Hawaiian and continental food. It's about $50 and worth every penny. more
