Gone but not forgotten

Arrived in Princeville and planned on dining at the Tavern tonight, only to find it not only closed BUT GONE! Have had many wonderful evenings there. Would have come from Seattle just for their PInaapple Crisp dessert. Will miss you. Hope you open somewhere on Kaui soon

This was a terrific restaurant. Good food, good service. However, as of now, they appear to be permanently closed. Rumor has it they may possibly relocate to HANALEI BAY RESORT.!!! HBR has a wonderful location with a beautiful ocean view, "sunset over Bali Hai" view that is "to die for". This would be a wonderful location for a new Tavern!... More

We have eaten at this Roy Yamaguchi restaurant several times before tonight's farewell.Because of purchase by out of country buyer, this wonderful restaurant is closing along with pro shop and the Prince course.Shring with grits I had was great as was my house salad. My cocktail was so good I got the recipe from the server. My husband had ribs that he... More

While staying in Princeville, we really wanted to try Roy's new restaurant. We've enjoyed his other restaurants and understand this was going to be a different spin. The food and service were all very solid. We had a great evening and the server did a great job. The actual layout of the restaurant wasn't very inspired though. At the end... More

First of all, the view at sunset was amazing, overlooking the golf course looking north. $110 for two of us for decent food, two beers, and one glass of wine. I had the chicken. My wife had the shrimp scampi. Wifey was not impressed with the pasta. I had a couple bites and wasn't blown away. When I ordered the... More

A beautiful view, excellent food and perfect service...all at reasonable pricing. We visited twice on our vacation and ate at the bar. Chelsea was delightful and remembered our drinks from our first visit. Servers were still a little shocked that the restaurant and golf course we're closing December 31 under new ownership. We wish them all well.

This restaurant at the Prince Golf Course in Princeville, HI has the most incredible views. While having a nice lunch you have views of the golf course with the mountains as a backdrop. And the flora is beautiful. The Tomato bisque and grilled cheese sandwich was great. Well worth the time on your way to the North Shore and Princeville... More

This is fancy food, not extremely pricey, nor extremely tasty, but it has some highlights that bump it up to 4 stars. 1.) It is in a nice location, and has good atmosphere. This is rare for Kauai. 2.) It has a big bar and you can grab seats there if the tables are all booked. 3.) The ribs and... More

For a number of years I have been coming to Kauai and I have played the Prince golf course on many occasions. This year was the first time we have tried the Tavern at the Prince clubhouse. Part of the reason for trying this restaurant is because it will probably be the last time I ever have the opportunity to... More

it was bar food and not very special. We'll look at future menus but not go unless the items look better.
