My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Tidepools recently. Everything was perfect. The views from the table beside the water were so beautiful and accented by the open access to the lagoon where the koi fish came right up beside our table to greet us. The service was friendly and excellent in every way. The food was... More

After a long day on the ocean or at the beach, treat yourself to a sumptuous, romantic dinner at Tidepools. You’ll dine by the light of tiki torches, under a thatched roof and next to a stocked freshwater lagoon. For more of my travel articles, visit: examiner.com/travel-in-san-jose/michele-mccarthy

Sitting by the water, watching fish swim while you eat a tasty ono ceviche, was one of the highlights of our trip. Casual atmosphere and great food.

Staff and food was sub par for the quality of the hotel. This restaurant is located in the Hyatt Grand Regency Hotel.

The hostesses seated me immediately. The waiter was friendly but took a long time to come around to my table. The other wait staff practically threw food at me and slammed cups on my table to fill with water. There was not much attention and all single people were gathered around the fighting carp pond to be splashed by the... More

Koi ponds and waterfalls are always nice but when the food comes out tasty--that is naturally what you are there for. Had great fresh fish (and you can tell the difference even in Hawaii)....Thanks to the Chef for his excellence in presentation and execution.

Their seafood is below average even for resort food. We ate at Tidepools because after a day of driving we weren’t in the mood to leave the resort –-bad decision. The majority of us ordered the “Hawaiian Catch” which is a mix of lobster tail, fish and crab cake on a bed of sweet potato and broccoli rabe. We all... More

Tidepools is a beautiful restaurant in a gorgeous setting. We were seated next to the water so we could watch the koi swimming about. The food was fantastic. We had 4 appies and 4 mains and couldn't finish it all. I'd recommend the ceviche and the scallops as appetizers! As for the mains - they were all great. Some reviewers... More

Lovely setting. Food was great and had a great wine list. We had a great table over looking the wee pool and could see the coi carp swimming up and down. Best gluten free bread on the island and could easily accommodate GF. The service was a bit shonky otherwise rating would have been higher. Well worth a visit but... More
