Gorgeous Atmosphere

Great service, good drinks, hit or miss food but the ambiance is unbeatable. Tip: Ask your server for recommendations on the food. They will be honest about what costumers have said what they do or do not like.

We were looking for good restaurants in Poipu area and we were happy we tried Tidepools. Entree meals were expensive but for what we got, we didn't mind. Food was so delicious! I had the Hawaiian Catch which I really loved. It had a lobster tail, crab cake and a fish called Monchong. My daughter had the Tofu HiryozuI which... More

The restaurant has a generous amount of space between tables. There are only a few tables in each room, creating a quiet and peaceful environment. The food was outstanding, from beginning to end. The server was an insightful guide throughout the evening.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 12 days and dined at Tidepools twice. Both times it was magical. Service was good, food was good and atmosphere good as you are inside a bamboo hut surrounded by ponds filled with koi fish, so wonderful. Loved the garlic cracked rolls, generous portions and delicious food. New York, yum! Monchong yum! Unforgettable,... More

The on-site restaurant at the Hyatt was great. The birds will take your bread fearlessly if you don't cover it. The pricing was not too crazy. For two people it cost about $140 with two drinks and no appetizer or dessert. Coming from Seattle that's about how much it costs at an upscale steakhouse.

Tide pools is a unique place because you feel like there is water all around you. Nighttime is romantic but being there as the light turns to shadows provides a uniquely beautiful ambience. Attentive servers who are prompt but not hovering. An excellent choice for a special occasion.

We ate dinner at Tidepools on a Monday night in March 2015. On the positive, the restaurant has a great location and very nice appearance. The walk through the Grand Hyatt entry hall and the grounds was beautiful. Unfortunately the rest of our dining experience was just average, considering the price paid. If/when we return to Kauai we might be... More

We went to dinner at Tidepools last night. As you can see from the pictures, it's a restaurant built above a pond filled with koi fish and surrounded by lit tiki torches. It's very nice looking at night. Although it is probably better suited for romantic evenings, they do have a children's menu. We were seated next to an area... More

We had a great meal here! You just can't beat eating in a tiki hut with fish swimming by! The restaurant had a great feel and wonderful service!

This is our favorite birthday and anniversary place to eat and celebrate. The food is always wonderful and the atmosphere is unique and magical. We follow our wonderful meal with lovely music upstairs.
