Nice but pretty pricey

We went to the Beach House early in our holiday as we had driven past and liked the look of it. The setting is beautiful, and the view from our table was pretty special. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Food was very enjoyable, although main courses were a staggering $35 to $50. Having... read more

We went to the Beach House again and took my sister and brother in law. Lovely place to watch the sunset, a monk seal, and then a great meal. I loved the watermelon salad and the fish. Everything we had was wonderful.

More than a meal, it's a Hawaiian experience. We started with a calamari appetizer. For my entree, I had a macadamia nut encrusted fish. Best fish I've ever eaten. They have a regular menu, but the type of fish used in each dish varies from day to day based on what was caught. The waiter was personable and knowledgeable and... More

The room was cramped, noisy and uncomfortable. The lights were shifting from bright to dim throughout the evening. While our server was pleasant, the food was not. The crabmeat chowder had no crabmeat and the fish entree had an overwhelming, inedible taste of horseradish after representations the sauce contained no horseradish. While they were kind to replace the entree with... More

We went for dinner and the sunset which is the real draw. It was not quite what I expected given the other reivews. It is a bustling restaurant, very busy and loud, and around sunset, a large crowd gathers in front of the restaurant for picture taking and to watch the sunset. The back of the restaurant is completely open... More

We had a 8pm reservation and were seated promptly facing the ocean and event sunset. Appetizer and dinner were absolutely tasty, hot and interesting. We had fried calamari for starter which was unlike any other. Our waiter Seth was very friendly and attentive, conversation with him made the experience five stars.

Went with our three kids and enjoyed ourselves. Great food, four stars however because service was so slow. Try to make your reservation for 6pm no later so you can enjoy the sunset.

This was my first time eating at The Beach House, and, as my title says, I'm not sure why I waited so long! Truth be told, I think I just always assumed it would be way out of my price range, and hubs and I are not known to be horribly romantic, so I assumed I would not be wowed... More
