I took my friends there for dinner last night and it was outstanding. We were seated outside on the deck with a stunning view of the sunset. The fish was fresh and yummy sides. Had a problem with my wine and our server, Jerrrad, replaced it immediately. He gave us a complimentary dessert and even got us the recipe. Yeah... More

In the Alaska Airlines magazine that I read on the way to Kauai, I read a great article about food on the islands. A "must try" on Kauai was the seared Ahi dish at Merriman's (upstairs). We dined here our first night in Poipu and loved the plantation style dining room. The shutters were open and we could see the... More

Decided to eat here our last night in the lower casual area....great truffle fries and their burgers were good although the lamb was well done and tough...$10 glasses of "average"wine ( their selection is minimal) brought our dinner for 3 burgers, 1 fish taco plate and 2 orders of truffle fries to $200 including tip....ate grilled fresh Mac crusted fish... Wow! That was without a doubt by far the best burger I have ever had. Even taking into account the price, I will go back for another. The bun, catsup and pickle were all home-made and excellent ( the waitress said the bun's batter recipe includes beer, which may account for it's superior flavor-full-ness). And the meat was local, super-fresh,... More

Went here with a large group of people just after New Years. Our server was wonderful, friendly, and prompt. Everyone had something nice to say about him. Unfortunately, there wasn't the same feeling about the food. It wasn't terrible or inedible, but certainly not worth the $100 a head total price. Everything was very heavily salted, and/or bland and tasteless.... More

My husband and I had dinner here during our stay in Kauai. The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. We had the pupu sampler for our appetizer and everything on it was superb and fresh. Would highly recommend having dinner here. You can book your res in advance on Opentable.com. A gift certificate for this restaurant makes a... More

We make it a bit of a mission to try mai tais from various spots when in Hawaii and this is one of the best. The food, atmosphere and service are top notch, but you pay for it.

Just had the pleasure of eating at Merriman's the other night. Can't say enough good things about the food or the service. 4 of us went for fish and we were not let down. Simple preparations were flavorful and served in a timely manner. Merriman's offers both full and half size portions, a benefit not offered everywhere. The view from... More

I ate my weight in seafood on the island and this place was no exception! I had the poke and it was filling and tasty! I would go back if I lived there!

After what felt like hours of waiting to finally get seated, we saw all their food came from the local farms which is good thing as it helps grow the idea of consuming local ingredients. We had chicken, fish and a caesar salad and they were fantastic! Our server was Marla and she was always making sure if we wanted... More
