Excellent food; maybe it's expensive, but how often do you get to Kaua'i

Let me say in advance that all our dishes were excellent. My daughter, who is not a heavy eater, chose two appetizers and a soup for her dinner. My advice would be to skip the steaks--you can get them in high-end steakhouses and concentrate on the fish, seafood, and vegetables. The sweet onion and... read more

Red Salt, the restaurant associated with Koa Kea resort, is lovely. Nice ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food, but very expensive -- although perhaps no more so than similar restaurants in the area. If you're prepared for the price, you won't be disappointed by the food.

Disappointing. The food was no better than average, the noise level was insanely high, with prices to match. Nice service, but I would not recommend this restaurant.

Rich but good meals that are beautifully presented (same with their drinks). If you go here, its certainly for the pricey atmosphere. I truly enjoyed our meal, (more so since this was our second visit) just expect small richly flavorful portions.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. The food tasted exceptional. Don't expect huge portion sizes, though and it is very expensive. Fish quality was superb. Service was as expected but nothing great. Ambiance was weird. They stuck the restaurant pretty much in the lobby. View was still ok, but not the best on the island. We ordered the... More

We ate dinner at several restaurants in Poipu Beach in March 2015. Red Salt was far and away our favorite restaurant. The quality of our meals was outstanding, the servers were very knowledgeable and the restaurant has a very nice appearance, good separation to other tables and not overly large. We ate at Red Salt twice – first on a... More

Tucked away just off Poipu Rd. in Poipu is one of the best restaurants on Kauai. It is part of the boutique Koa Kea Resort. Excellent setting, perfect service. Great food. A little pricey, but worth every dollar.

My husband and I went for dinner here in early March 2015. We went towards the end of our vacation; had we gone earlier, we would have made a second reservation. The restaurant is small, open and really nothing fancy. The food and service are exceptional. Our server was Sanbee, who was helpful and attentive throughout our entire meal. She... More

So, the restaurant is just about in the hotel lobby and the ambiance is nice enough but not like many others which feature ocean and/or garden views of "paradise" but the food here was as good as any others we recently dined at (like Red Fire, Plantation Gardens, Beach House, Josselin's) and the price was reasonable (for the value). The... More

Came from Grand Hyatt twice. First meal was better than second, but Jessa's service was impeccable both times. The best was lemon soufflé pancakes. Loved Portuguese sausage and Eggs Benedict. Would go back again. Boutique hotel looks nice btw.
