This place had inexpensive local Hawaiian food and was located in an industrial area in Lihue. We bought the mixed plate to share and a salad to share and took it back to the terrace of the hotel. More than enough food for the two of us and boy was it delicious. I bought some cinamon shortbread cookies to take... More

Marks place should be your number one destination for awesome local food. The mixed plate lunch was great- surprisingly great beef stew, despite initial wariness about eating stew on a warm summer day. The Korean chicken plate was also good. I wish we had a Marks Place near us, because we'd go all the time. Food is tasty, prices are... More

Try the mixed plate so you will know what to order on your return visits. Large filling portions are a great value if you are hungry. Do not forget to try their chocolate brownie or butter mochi, seriously, you will thank me later.

this is a great place, unfortunately for the locals the word is spreading. mark's is a must stop, even with the inconvenient location - which makes it even more of an expierence away from some of the tourists. this place has it all, reasonable prices, good portions, and exceptionally tasing food that is more Hawaiian then other establishments. the decor... Mark's Place is worth the stop. It really isn't that hard to find. Turn on Puhi Road away from Kauai Community College. About a 1/4 mile down the road keep looking to the right. It is set back a little of Puhi Road, but you can see the sign. You better come hungry. At Mark's you probably get your best... More

Recommended to us by a local. Seven of us loved it so much we drove 30 minutes to have dinner there the night before we left to fly home. Very tasty food and very reasonably priced. Even our 2 body building young men couldn't finish off their meal. The first night we were there it was late and they were... More

This was a great lunch place... Thanks to all of the Trip Advisor reviews! The only trick was finding it in the industrial/business park...(we missed the sign on the far side of the blue building.. From Puhi Rd)... Once we found it (& found a spot to park), we saw a line... Which is a good sign in my opinion...... More

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A little out of the way but worth it if you can find it. The price is right for these Plate lunch specialists.

One of our local tour guides recommended this place as his favorite. It is an industrial section of town, but dont let that fool you! The locals are all there too! WOW was it good! They offer large portions of plate lunches-korean chicken, katsu, seared ahi salad, beef stew, katsu cutlet, teriyaki chicken--plus rice, salad and mac salad. Or get combination of... More

Mark's Place is a little out of the way in the Puhi Industrial Area. It's well worth it! The food is cooked to order, is of excellent quality, large quantity and excellent value! I was able to make 3 meals out of two entrees. The entrees cost about $17. You can't beat Mark's Place.
