Great plate lunches and real quality catering

Love to stop at this place and what's more Mark's more "refined" catering menu was our selection at our wedding in Hanalei a few years ago. As a proud foodie I couldn't and our guests couldn't praise it enough!

Look for this place. Best plate lunch on Kauai. We had beef stew, teri chicken, chicken katsu, two scoops of rice and macaroni. I love getting beef stew at any rice plate place in Hawaii, but this was far and away the best beef that I have ever had. And great macaroni. Not easy to find. But worth the search.... More

This place deserves its high rating. The food was fantastic. The price was affordable. You could tell by the fact that it was packed full of locals that it's great food for the price. I got the chicken Kutsu combo plate and it was a loaded with chicken. If I had it over again, I'd get the "marks special" plate.

A local dive with great Hawaiian eats. Really close to the airport so a great stop after a long flight... Looking forward to going back.

I had the Seared Teriyaki Ahi Belly. The Ahi was firm, flaky and while it was thoroughly cooked, it was still moist. It came with white or brown rice and mac salad or green. It was delicious and judging by the clientele, Mark's Place is a hit with the locals.

We were in the Lihue area looking for something delicious, and came to Mark's place. It hit the spot and broke da mouth. My husband eats a lot of Hawaiian food (on Oahu and in LA) and this place is fantastic. I need a little green on my plate and the salad was great. Try the Korean Chicken. We love... More

Great lunch plates, affordable, local, and they are open late( till 8 pm). Mark's special combo plate was a good deal and delicious, we also loved loco moco( easily best on the island). Very casual, a few communal tables outside. Take cc. Only negative, it was hard to find, in the industrial area ( we actually found it by accident... More

We looked for local food and we get local food. It's not a traditionnal restaurant with wait staff and tables, but it's worth the experience. You have to order at the counter and sit outside on picnic tables, the place is located in an industrial area so the atmosphere is not great. I try the Mixed Plate, it was good,... More

So, as others have stated, this place can be a bit hard to find. It is in an industrial park where parking is at a premium (we had to park across the street in a field strewn with broken glass). It is very small inside - just a counter to order and a refrigerator with drinks. Not a lot of... More

Known for the local style plate lunches we ordered some loco-moco plates as well as their beef stew/teriaki chicken plates and some chicken katsu. Not impressed.Average taste-nothing special. overpriced for sure but most things are overpriced on Kauai. Located in an industrial area all by itself.A few picnic benches outside to eat in. We also tried the mango bread-which again... More
