As a person who always buys 5 - 10 bags of their mac cookies, the newest packaging does not allow the cookies to keep very long. They got stale in just a few days. I hope the Bakery will return to the old packaging and the old shape of their cookies. more

Went to Tip Top on the recommendation of "The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook" by Andrew Doughty. I was not disappointed. I had the best pancakes that I have ever had. I will really miss that place. It is not a fancy place, but you get good food. I tried the pancakes with bananas and nuts on the side (first), and then... more

We just got back from another visit, and it was awesome!!!! We ate here three times. I got their fried noodles one day and they were great and I also go their macnut banana pancakes...try them with the pineapple too, tastes like pineapple upside down cake...anyway, yes, eggs are gross but if you ask for them dry and then add... more

This is a true local's place - fun to see where they go! My husband and I both had the macadamian nut pancakes. The decor is very understated, but I liked the food. The price was $4.50 for a single pancake, $5.50 for two. The waitress was very nice. I would go there again, but my husband needs a bit... more

My family and I recently had breakfast at the Tip Top Café and it truly is a hidden gem here in Kauai. The place is a very simple coffee shop type atmosphere and it is located in the bottom floor of the Tip Top Motel. It is truly a case of looks can be deceiving as the restaurant area is... more

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the airport. There was a little bit of a wait to be seated, but they turn the tables fast. This place works with clock-like precision. I had the pineapple, banana macnut pancakes. They were very good. My husband had thier version of a Grand Slam. The eggs were disgusting. I've never... more

Tip Top reminds me of a 'down home' coffee shop or diner. Not fantastic ambience, but we had good food and a decent price (for Kauai). I tried the loco moco after the waitress described it to me...never had it before, but figured "why not?". I like gravy over rice anyway, so it was a good pick for me. My... more

Very local place. Food was average plus a bit. There are other places that are better. That having been said don't miss the macadamia nut pancakes. Service was OK too. more

For a good breakfast, go to Dani's or the Tip Top Cafe, both much better (in our opinion) than the Kalapaki Beach Hut. These are two spots where the locals eat. The Tip Top has booths, but Dani's may be a bit neater. The food and prices are on a par. Don't be afraid to give the loco moco a... more
