Well if you think plain pancakes are good, then you will die for the banana, mac nut pancakes with coconut syrup on top. The taste is a bit of heaven. The atmosphere is very local, clean and you may be the only tourists there. Worth every bite

Another favorite breakfast spot on Kauai....best fried rice on the island. We go to Tip Top every visit to Kauai for excellent local kind food....the Ox Tail Soup is one of our favorites. It's all good, no bad meals here.....the wait staff push around carts with the food on them, feels like a dim sum restaurant.. Busy, understated and delicious!

Upon a recommendation of a friend we went to the Tip Top Café for breakfast. This is a place that you would pass right by....big mistake. The banana, pineapple, macadamia nut pancakes with their coconut syrup was to die for. We ended up going back two more times during our stay. The service was quick and efficient.

Came here as recommended by our hotel. Arrived early at the island but hotel room wasn't ready and was hungry for some good breakfast. Wanted a good local place and this was recommended. There was a queue but it went quite fast. Apart from another couple, we looked like the only two tourists in there which was perfect for us.... More

Totally love this spot, I'm such a foodie, when I come to Kauai, I have all my favorite spots picked out, I totally love there kunimura special, it comes with fried rice, and a scrambled egg omelet, with Vienna sausage, tomatoes and cheese, it's wonderful!

There were a lot of mixed reviews about this place. It looks like a dive, I know. However, the food is fresh and tasty. I loved it! I've never had the "Loco Moco" before, it was really tasty! I wish I had had more time to try all the dishes.

We were told by some residents near Poipu to circle back to Lihue, "to Tip Top." The place looks like an old square dance hall inside. Ordered the loco moco because we were told to. Sounded like such a mishmash (pile of fried rice, burger patty, eggs, gravy) that I ordered the banana macadamia nut pancakes as a backup. Wound... More

A lot of locals eat here and the main reason is great food with reasonable prices. It's only open for breakfast and lunch. We has saimin. I was not impressed with their pancakes though. It's always pretty full.
