On a recent March visit to Kauai, my daughter and I found the Goteborg Sausage at Tip Top Café/Bakery. It was delicious. Tasted like Salami, but better. I finally located it on Oahu. It is fairly known to Kauai residents, but not to Oahu residents. Breakfast at Tip Top Café/Bakery was fantastic. Packed with locals and tourists. Food was delicious... More

We were told this is a Kauai "local's secret". We went for brunch, and although we were seated quickly and the staff was friendly, the experience was only okay. The food itself was disappointing. Small portions (which surprised us, given that pancakes in Hawaii tend to spill over the plates), blah taste quality, and slow service all made us wonder... More

We had heard about Tip Top so we thought we would try it for our breakfast before heading to airport to leave for home. It really wasn't anything special. I would have rated it a 2 for the "way too fast" wait staff and the greasy hash brown patty (it didn't say was a patty on menu, it said "hash... More

The BEST banana pancakes! Oxtail soup is always great on a raining cool day or just because you feel like it. Service is quick. A local hangout for breakfast and lunch. Casual setting.

We were given this restaurant by one of the Marriott employees as the best loco moco around, except hers!! This is definitely a locals breakfast and lunch spot. The loco moco was excellent as were the eggs, spam and ham and the fried shrimp. If you are looking for a local experience with excellent food this is a good spot... More

Tip Top was recommended to us as great breakfast place, especially the macadamia nut pancakes. When we arrived the live was almost out the door, but we were seated within 20 minutes. People leaving raved about the food. We could hardly wait. We our food arrived we could not understand what all the hoopla was about. Both of us thought... More

On our yearly vacations to Kauai we now go to the Tip Top Café for our first breakfast. I love the pancakes! They fill the plate and you can have them with bananas or macadamia nuts. They also make killer omelets, which you can get with hash browns, sausage, toast etc etc until you may not eat the rest of... More
