Eat where the locals eat

Nothing fancy here except the delicious home cooked food. There are always two breakfast specials as well as a regular menu. Coffee is served by the pot here. Open till 1 Mon-Sat and closed on Sunday. Try the Kalua pork wit two eggs and two scoops of rice.

Busy busy busy. This local hot spot has great eats. The food is good, the coffee is great and it is a local haven. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is simple and low key. Great spot to eat breakfast everyday. Hours are 5am - 11am Mon - Fri and Sat 5am -1pm. Have some pineapple pancakes. You won't regret... More

Nothing special about this place. Food was average, hard to screw up breakfast. Needs new flooring and fixtures. Prices good for Kawa'i.

My husband likes Moco Loco, but I noticed that there is a slightly different version on the menu that adds cheese, bacon, and green onions. My husband raved about it and is making up all kinds of reasons why we need to swing by there again for a meal. I am a vegetarian, so the hamburger patty does not appeal... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. The lunch menu is also served at breakfast. My husband ordered a luau plate which had a little bit of everything. I have just forgotten what I had! Anyway, I remember it was good and I liked that they put a pot of coffee on the table and it was included with the... More

Dani's restaurant is an institution in the city of Lihue. For more than 30 years they have provided good basic quality food, some of which are Hawaiian specialties. The service is always good, the staff friendly, and the food is both reasonable and of good quality. My first meal at Dani's was back in 1981, and when I'm in Lihue,... More

Seat yourself, the menus are on your table, and enjoy a time when Hawaii wasn't all about high-rise hotels, celebrity chefs, and condos. We had the Tripe Stew with Poi, Beef Stew with Rice, and Ham and Cheese Omelette with Hash Browns, each dish getting a splash of their homemade Hawaiian Chili Pepper Water, the best in Hawaii! If you... More

Fast, friendly service, reasonably priced ($16 total for two, including coffee). We had the two egg +meat+toast which was very good. It seems that Dani's is the place where the locals go for breakfast

My husband and I decided to try a "new" place for breakfast during our recent visit to Kauai and stopped at Dani's one morning. It's definitely a local hangout, but were made to feel welcome as tourists. A pot of coffee is left on each table, and there is no extra charge for coffee at breakfast. I had the loco... More

Hambuger steak breakfast is wonderful with 2 eggs, rice and gravy. Omelette choices and daily specials make this place a regular local hang out. You can even get lunch items for breakfast which makes it a nice change.
