Hole in the wallish, but the food is awesome

The noodles in the saimin are so fresh and delicious. Would have scored a 5 for that, but we also order bbq sticks and they were good, but not nearly as good as the saimin!

Good as always!!! If you don't know what saimen is, try it. Get the "special" ($8 for the special).....all the locals eat this one. This place has not changed for 15 years!!! Hint: if you don't know how to use chopsticks, ask for fork. Locals use forks.

Homemade saimin in an authentic old local diner. Don't let the serpentine counter and stools deceive you - this place is the real deal. The saimin is so ono (Hawaiian for

If your roots scream that you need good saimin, this is the place! We normally travel to Honolulu or Hilo for good saimin, but this place bets them all - seriously! Perfect noodle soup with lots of variety on the menu (wall). Not a fine dining place, just little stools and counters. I wanted to try the passionfruit pie, but... More

Great inexpensive no frills meal get the special saimin and a piece of the light as air chiffon pie. Filling, flavorful and a great value.

This is a very popular place for both tourists and locals. Can be very crowded at times. Saiman is the thing to eat here. Decent and inexpensive. I thought the bbq beef sticks were delicious.

The noodle stand is exactly as it was since the last time I was there 25 years ago. Yes, that is a good thing! It's the simplistic low counters, stools and swinging screen door that makes you feel like you are eating home cooked foods. A MUST stop for lunch or dinner while on Kauai. We took our food to... I had never had saimen before and figured it was very similar to ramen. In some aspects it is, like the noodles, but the rest of the dish is very different. It was all very tasty together! The service was fast and I think they refilled my water glass at least 6 times which I absolutely loved! We also got... More

Look, it's saimin, a Hawaiian version of ramen, and it's really really tasty, plus super cheap. Cheapest meal we had on Kauai--with tip, fed my husband, my son, and me for $27. We came in for dinner and there was loads of room to sit and the women serving were fast friendly, and efficient. Highly recommend the special saimin.

We came at the recommendation of a local, it's very basic. I loved the atmosphere, ladies that work there and the food was good! Nothing fancy by any stretch but a good local experience. We had the saimin, saimin special, won ton soup -all good. Crispy wontons and shrimp tempura were good too, not excellent but exactly what I'd expect... More
