We had lunch here in early Jan 2015. Loved the authentic noodle soup and great seafood. Very basic menu, and service is no-nonsense. Prices are very reasonable compared to everywhere else in that part of Kauai. We were there a bit after normal lunch timing, and there was no line, but it was FULL with people. if you're with people... More

Recent stopped by here for lunch. The bowl of saimin noodle was very tasty. It is definitely homestyle cooking. The saimin noodles were cooked perfectly and the noodles had perfect texture to them. The tempura shrimp was good, but not great. There is no dipping sauce. I assume the tempuras are meant to be added to your bowl of saimin... More

This isn't a fancy establishment by any means. However as a tourist it was nice to get off the main eating strips and find a place the locals love. We had wonton soup and shrimp noodle. The food was ok - the noodles quite bland but it seemed everyone else was enjoying it and there was a long line of... More

The saimin is great. We had the special and shrimp saimin and chicken strips. The lilikoi chiffon pie is to die for. The seating is cafeteria style. You wait in line till a seat opens up on the tables, and slide in. The menu is minimal, and most entrees are $8-9.

It's not easy to find and parking is often difficult, but it's worth the search. The Wonton Saimin and the Special Saimin are amazing. The portions are generous and price is low. Don't miss the lillikoi pie for dessert either. Also, they have skewers of beef and chicken which are delicious. You can get one or as many as you... More

This saved us! We arrived at the Kauai Palms Hotel after 11:00 p.m. We were hungry and thought we would be out of luck. Come to find out that this place is around the corner from the hotel and it was open until midnight!. Simple, vary casual counter-type seating. We ordered the Special Saimin. My husband ate all of his... More

I totally agree with all the other reviewers. The place is casual, and the food is really good. The best is the extra large Special Saimin. It will fill you up. And yes, do leave room for the pie. We went on the Saturday and it was way too busy. But we went back on a Monday and it was... More

Very casual counter seating for a quick noodle lunch. Normal size portions except for the generous extra large house special for the really hungry! Just make sure you leave room for their chiffon pie which was very light and tasty. Parking is very limited. For us, it was an experience but not so enthused to repeat.
