Have been coming to Kauai for over 20 years and have always eaten at Dukes. Actually have eaten there quite often. However on this visit, my friend and I were disappointed with the food. Both of us had the fish and chips. It was dreadful. The breading on the fish was thicker than the fish itself. The waffle fries that... More

We tried both the upper and the lower parts of Duke's. My wife loved the Arugula salad, and I dug into the wonderful ribs in the Barefoot bar. We found the upper restaurant to be very pricey, and not as good. You will get a singular piece of fish on rice for $30.00 which includes the large salad bar, but... More

Food was great and the interior design and decorations are suited for it's location (the beach), although the wait at dinner time is quite a wait, it's worth it. The waiters are friendly. The drinks were good too. Moderately priced.

In a restaurant in Hawaii and the waitress tells me the tuna can only be served well done as it is an inferior grade tuna. WHAT!!! Expensive bar food of very poor quality. The concierge recommended a restaurant behind the Coconut Marketplace that is in a time share but independently run. Outstanding. The Beach House Restaurant is wonderful as always.

We stopped in hoping for an early happy hour, but unfortunately we were too early (it starts at 4pm, fyi). We heard great reviews of this place though, so we sucked it up to pay full price. It was GREAT! Nadine's Mai Tai reminded me of a smoothie. It may not have had a ton of liquor in it, but... More

I was staying at a little inn across from Duke's. Go for Happy Hour at the bar. Food service there as well and great drinks. Bartenders are attentive especially to those of us who were there solo. Live music each night I was there.

We've visited Kauai every other year for 20 years and always include at least one (and frequently two) dinners at Duke's. Staying at the Marriott makes it extremely convenient, but it would be worth the drive even if you're staying elsewhere. A beautiful setting and friendly staff make for a wonderful atmosphere. The fresh tossed Caesar salad bar is a... More

Are there solo while in town on business. I have been to all other Dukes in Hawaii so I knew what to expect. It was just before happy hour ended so a big crowd, lucky to get a single seat at the bar. Ordered the ahi entree, which included salad bar access. The salad was nothing special, but I have... More

We always go to Dukes at least once when we stay on Kauai. We have never been disappointed with any aspect of the service or food. The salad bar is fantastic, foods very fresh and cold. We also like to visit the Barefoot bar for happy hour.

Located in a prime location in Lihue, Kauai, Luke is a beautiful restaurant, facing the beach, with a super current menu, fresh fish, well cooked and seasoned to perfection and a very friendly staff. We ended up eating there for the last 4 days of our stay at The Marriott at Kauai. Very pleasant location, second floor has a restaurant... More
