Located on the ground floor of the historic Kilohana Plantation home, diners are seated around an open-air courtyard with views of the plantation grounds and Mt. Waialeale in the distance. Our kitchen uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients supporting our local farmers and fishermen. Our 67-acre sustainable farm provides much of the produce and herbs used in our dishes and cocktails. Menu items include starters like fresh Ahi Poke, Seafood Spring Rolls and Organic Greens Salads; Local Fish, Meat and Vegetarian Entrees; and Banana Cream Pie for Dessert! After your meal take a walk around the Kilohana grounds, shop in our assorted boutiques, visit the rum shop or take a ride on the plantation train. The service was wonderful and the food was even better. We never skip our annual meal at Gaylords. The atmosphere is excellent and the food was amazing.

We were looking for a decent restaurant for lunch close to Lihue airport ahead of our early afternoon flight and decided to try Gaylord's based on the positive online reviews. We actually expected somewhat of a tourist trap but were very pleasantly surprised to discover that it is actually an amazing restaurant, fit for us Manhattan foodies. We sat at... More

Gaylord's underwent a major change in food a few years ago and we stopped going in spite of the marvelous atmosphere and view. We tried again this month and were very pleased that the restaurant had returned to the type of food we loved for so many years. Be sure to try the prime rib and the cocoanut cream pie.... More

We booked are res for 7:30, at 7:29 the phone rang in the car, "Are coming". First clue. We arrived ordered drinks. Lovely piano playing in the background being drowned out by ka boom of a luau in the back. Second clue. Order the special, Prime Rib subbing the garlic mash for real potatoes. Meal arrived shortly with garlic mash,... More

This isn't an ocean view but the service, food and serene surroundings combine for an excellent experience. I've had a few different dishes here but the Salmon dish and the local field greens with added meat are my favorites. Prices are quite reasonable. Enjoy.

We enjoyed our visit to Gaylord's. Dress code is nice island/aloha attire. Mahi mahi was delicious. Drinks were good. Plantation pie and banana cream n pie were WORTH IT! Service was great. I would highly recommend to others - and did - and we would definitely go back ourselves. Also has a great happy hour and serves Koloa rum featured... More

We had a lovely lunch here and just watched the day to by. One of the best Mai-Tai's on the island. It had to be the best because they have a rum factory right on site. I had a soup of the day and salad that was just great!! I'll do it again if I ever get back to Kauai,... More

Gaylords is worth the trip. We had dinner reserves and were surprised to see the restaurant empty. Then we found out the entire place had been reserved for an earlier dinner and was just now reopening. We heard the luau music in the background. Gaylords is what is left of the Grove Farm after Steve Case purchased the original 17000... More
