We were greeted as we approached the door. As we were guided to our table, the wait staff greeted us warmly and immediately provided water and menus. Our waiter, Gino, was friendly and unhurried while describing the specials of the evening. He was attentive and timely without being intrusive. Our food was fresh, recipes were original and tasty (try the banana-coconut... More

Okay food; very slow service and our appetizers came with our meals. Go to Donderos instead -- much better service and food.

Best food we had the entire 10 days on Kauai, and Oahu! A must eat stop! 2nd visit 10 years apart, still great food!

Our last night on this magical island and we decided to give Gaylords a try and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is set in an old plantation, and dining is on the candlelit veranda. Started with my favorite island drink, "Mai Tai," made with kohola rum, brewed right on Kauai. My husband and I shared the mixed field green... More

My wife and I both travel a lot for business. That forces us to eat out often. By far this is the best dining experience we have both experienced. The chef brought our lunch to the table. I had the braised rib dip and she had tacos. On a scale of 1 to 10 this place is an 11! MAKE... More

Little confusing when entering the big old plantation home - no obvious place to check-in as the hostess table is around the corner and not marked well. Once we walked around looking into rooms for where we went we found the hostess and were promptly seated for our reservation. Nice eating in the garden, service was good, drinks, appetizers, entrée... More

We didn't eat at Gaylord's, but had drinks and appetizers at the lounge. They have $2 off Mia Tais which were billed as the best around. The Mai Tais were good, but not the best I've had. They are made with the rum from the next door Koloa Rum factory. The apps we had, Avocado Poke and Kalua Pork Quesadilla,... More

This was our second time on Kauai and Gaylord's was just as good this time around. We tried their Koloa rum tasting and it was awesome, asked for Koloa in all our drinks the rest of the time on the island. Kale was a great host! Then we did Sunday brunch and it was perfect. Thanks again for helping to... More

The restaurant is part of the Plantation mansion which was the most expensive house built in Hawaii at that time. (1935). Very nice court yard in center of restaurant. We order catch of the day which was Mahimahi. It was delicious with a lemon grass/butter/coconut sauce. Only $18. You can check out this manor for free as each room of... More
