Crab in the soft shell crab roll was tough and burnt, mostly rice though. Tempura was um.... Not tempura but looked and tasted more like the broken crumbles in the bottom of the fry basket. Did not try the sashimi so maybe that's where they shine?

I really enjoyed the chef that cooked our food in front of us. The show wasn't great but the chef was very friendly and skillful. The food tasted great especially the catch of the day mahi mahi. I would do this again and definitely try the sushi, this place is a local favorite place, with people lined up before it... More

The Tip Top Cafe becomes Sushi Katsu during the evening and provides a nice place to have a good variety of sushi, sashimi and other Japanese dishes. Not fancy but a good value

My wife and I were looking for something a little less touristy and read the reviews online for this place and thought we'd give it a try. That definitely wasn't the smartest thing we did on our trip. The look of the restaurant left something to be desired. It didn't look overly dirty but did look like a mix between... More

Got sushi rolls and all the rolls were painfully tasteless-lots of rice, no flavors. The place looks and feels like a cafeteria, but seems clean.

After reading the reviews, we decided to venture here to see how the food was. Definately a local place. We did have to wait a bit for a table, but nothing unexpected. The vegetable tempura was great - huge plate and plenty for the 5 of us. We ordered the mixed sashimi platter, and while overall the quality was good,... More

Full Sushi Bar, with wide range of sushi, also has a small menu of other Japanese foods. Price is reasonable and food is tasty.

We had to wait for a table on a Monday night, so it's a popular place. All the food we ordered was good, but quantities were small and our average dinner tab was over $30 per person, we were still hungry when we left.

Sushi was good although I thought a little pricey. $60 for three of us. Miso soup was great as was the large California Roll.

If you can get past the old paint, 50 year old booths, and confusing setting you will have friendly staff and quick service. This was recommended by locals as a place for locals - and you will feel this is a neighborhood find with no tourists in site. It's a bit pricey (dinners run about $15ish/person) but for the "local"... More
