Popular spot to pick up some fresh fish or bento lunch. This time we each had one of the bento lunches..tasty and pretty inexpensive. I think all the lunch items are under $10. I had their poke last time and the fish tasted very fresh with just the right amount of seasonings…very good! Their staff was friendly and very helpful.... More

Fish Express is close to the airport, and was our second stop ( after Walmart, to stock up on supplies) after landing in Kauai. The grilled food is restaurant quality, and quickly prepared. Take the time to stand back and read the menu carefully if it's your first visit. They have catch-of-the-day offerings prepared several ways. I ordered the macadamia... More

I live in Hawaii and have traveled the islands so I have quite the pallet for poke. This poke was good, not the best I've had. The onion poke and crab ahi poke are good. This place gets packed. It is only meant for take out as there is no where to dine. The parking is also outlandishly designed and... More

Fish Express is an absolute delight! Clued in by the staff at our Lihue hotel, we visited the easily accessible, free standing store for some take-out lunch our first day on Kaua’i. Our little picnic on the beach at Lydgate State Park that afternoon turned out to be a culinary dream: Blackened ahi with guava sauce for me, grilled parmesan-pesto... More

Super fresh fish and great preparation makes for a solid dining experience. The main disadvantages are that there is no table service and they close at 5:00. Pick up a lunch or dinner and enjoy it on the beach.

I guess I was expecting more after reading reviews on this place. There were many locals eating here so it should have been excellent. I ordered the fish tacos and they were just average. Nothing great. It seemed to take along time to prepare as many who had ordered after us were served quicker.

Whether cooked, or raw, this place has the best fish on the island. We buy both prepared dishes, plus fresh fish to cook in our grill. For the takeaway meals, there are beach parks nearby, and if you just can't wait, there are even picnic tables at Walmart across Kuhio Highway. It's super ono!

Had the Ahi Poke - really yummy with rice. Everything looked good here, I had a hard time choosing. It's one of those places where I felt like I couldn't choose anything bad. They close at 5 PM though so don't plan on getting dinner from here unless it's going to be an early one.

Our first stop from the airport! The place was packed at lunch time. We waited our turn and chatted with locals about recommendations. I enjoyed the fish tacos and my husband had the fish sandwich. Both were wonderful. However, we could not find the local park the server told us about (there is no seating available) so, we wound up... More

Everything here is outstanding, from the fresh tuna poke with kahui nuts & seaweed to the monchong, opah, opakapaka, and hebi. Their dipping sauce is the best we've ever had, must be a secret recipe. Can't wait to return!
