We went to the luau a couple of weeks ago. I was expecting the luau to be outside but instead it was in a conference room. We sat banquet style at very large tables (maybe 30 people per table). The food and drink were all you can eat/drink. The food was good. The dancing was entertaining. But for the price... more
I have been to several luau's in my life and this one ranks as the most disappointing. We took our kids who were really excited about their first luau. It was basically a ton of tables with those cheap flimsy lawn type chairs all crammed together in a courtyard. The stage was far away (we had arrived 20 minutes early... more
We were waiting to see an authentic Luau but this really didn't cut it! This was definitely intended for your average sucker tourist. My boyfriend commented that he was expecting to sit on the floor indian style and see fire-breathers but this wasn't that kind of show. The dancers were all out of sync and there were entirely too many... more
We just returned yesterday, and i'm already missing it! This hotel was fabulous and well worth the top dollar that you'll pay. It is light years ahead of the Hyatt Regency Maui (see my other review on that dump) There were a few issues on check in- the bathtub didn't appear to be very clean, the shower head was srusted... more
Not sure why everyone is giving this such a bad rap. I've been to Germain's luau on Oahu and I thought it was crap compared to this luau. This one was situated in one of the gardens with a nice stage and good amenities. They started us off with mai tai's, some sort of vodka cool aid and other drinks... more
We were really excited about this given what the guidebooks and reviews said (it was also our first luau). We didn't eat lunch even and going onto the Hyatt grounds was awesome. However, we got totally lost trying to find our way to the cashier--it's like Alice in Wonderland in there! It started off just wrong, wrong, wrong. We had... more
This luau was outside which I guess isn't always the case. It was sprinkling before we sat down so they gave us lightweight rain ponchos just in case. It turned out we all ended up wearing them for a short time while it downpoured but the food, although wet, was still very good. The show was entertaining and the host... more
We've been to a few Luau's on Kauai and this is one of the best...the pork is amazing... we went back for 3rds! The entertainment was great...something for everyone. more
The hotel is beautifully designed from the entrance, to the amazing view from the lobby and from the Seaview Terrace. The downside on the layout is the distance from the parking lot to your room. The grounds are breathtaking and the view of the ocean is unparalled compared to other places that people recommended we have drinks at and eat... more
