Great take out

Best place in Kauai for local food. This was recommended to us by a guide at the Botanical garden. It took us several minutes to figure out what to order because there were so many things unfamiliar to us but finally settled on Lau Lau pork plate and grillled local fish plate. Do yourself a favor, grab some poke, laulau, or mixed plate and head to the beach. Act like a local you'll be glad you did!

Four of us went to the Market (cash only) and picked dinners to go. We had some wine and beer and went to Poipu Beach Park and watched the sunset. The wahoo/rice/salad/one other fish plate was excellent and really made the informal dinner. The ladies running the place were incredibly quick and friendly. this is not a sit down restaurant,... Got a couple of box lunches here last month. Delish. Filling, hearty, fast. Great place to stop for a quick bite.

Very small restaurant. We had to actually search for it, even though it is on the main drag. There is no indoor seating and the area to order is cramped. But all of this is worth it ! The take out meal of tuna was quickly served. The staff was reasonably friendly, given the hectic pace at which they work... More

Ordered the Lulu & Koloa Pig combo plate. The lulu was incredibly moist and the Pig had a great smoke flavor. This place is a real local joint with a lot of character crammed into a small space. Get your take-out and head to the beach.

This market is very small but it has some great food and prices. You can either get a plate lunch to go or if you get there early enough, get some fish filets to take back to your hotel/resort and cook up. We enjoyed their poke a couple times and their seared ahi was excellent! We bought a large filet... More

Stop by after reading reviews and close to our place. Wanted something quick and easy to take back to the condo. It was busy so had to make a quick decision. Had the Hawaiian combo plate, wasabi cream Ono plate and a pound of shoyu poke. All were very tasty and nicely done. The Ono was everyone's favorite, such a... More

I had been dying for a decent plate lunch and we tried this fish market. Jackpot! I ate the kalua pork and Lau Lau and my wife ate the Lomi Lomi and the noodles. We were both pleasantly pleased. As a huge bonus we were advised to try anything smoked and just our luck they had smoked marlin available. We... More
