Tourists always ask us, where is a good place to eat. They're talking touristy expensive resturaunts.. locals don't eat there, they work there. We're too busy working and trying to make it in this high priced paradise to live in and don't really care too much for overpriced, teeny foods. Give me Sueoka Snack Shop any day over those high... more

This little take out place next to the market is always busy. Plate lunches are generous enough for two! more

This is a true local place. If you are not familiar with plate lunches do some research on the Internet first. If I lived in Koloa Town I'd eat here three days a week at least (three more at Koloa Fish Market and rest on Sunday!) more

11This breakfast/lunch spot is just a walk-up window outside our local grocery store - Sueoka Store in Old Koloa Town - the Snack Shop is open from 9 to 4pm Tuesday thru Saturday - 9:30 to 4pm on Sunday - closed Mondays. Again...the line is very long at lunchtime as this is one of the very few local lunch spots... more

My in-laws purchased the family burgers and fries from this place. Not much from the outside but the burgers were pretty good. Nothing fancy but good burgers with lettuce, tomatos, onions and thousand island sauce. The burger patties looked handmade. The only weakness were their fries. Pretty bland. I wanted to try their local plate dishes but never had the... more

The Snack Shop had been recommended to us but they close early (as most places do in Kauai) so it wasn't until our last day there that we were able to try it. We had fish and chips and it was delicious. The fish was obviously fresh, the batter light and flavorful, and the fries were great too. Also -... more

The Sueoka Snack Shop is literally a hole in the wall. If you are looking for a fancy sit-down restaurant with ambience, this will not be the place, but in an area that is sadly lacking budget eateries, it stands alone in offering a quick good value lunch. It has a selection of burgers including an excellent Mahi-Mahi burger and... more

This place is a true jem! We got lunch and ate under the big tree acoss the street. Home made spring rolls were delicious! A little something for everyone on the menu, but I can only speak for the fried mahi and pork, both of which were excellent. Lunch plates filing but not greasy. A place for those looking for... more

This can truly be characterized as a hole in the wall. But if your credit card/wallet is tired of the high prices of the Poipu Beach area and you want to experience yummy local fare try Sueoka's. It is right on the "main drag" in Koloa Town in the parking lot of Sueoka's store. The main attraction is a variety... more
