Eating in Kapaa on Sundays are challenging since many of the local places are closed. I have to say Mermaids was a waste of one of our food meals for the week, and the dishes were overpriced for what they were. Based on TripAdvisor reviews we tried Mermaids and were very glad that we did. It was so good that we went back a second time for lunch. The food was fresh and healthy. Good salsa. I had a wrap and a plate lunch. I will definitely return to Mermaids on my next trip to Kauai. more
Mermaids WAS one of our favorite places to grab a quick healthy bite to eat until...we were inundated by panhandlers one Friday evening. They were relentless and in some cases, rude. Found out these same guys frequent Mermaids on an almost daily basis since they are legally allowed to be on the sidewalk--which is where tables from the restaurant are... more
Food was great. Friendly service. Very reasonable prices. I wish we would have gone there at the beginning of our stay—I could have eaten there every night! more

Ahi was featured here too. Satay and tacos streetside after Mai Tais at Eastside. Food was fresh, delicious, and well-prepared. Lots of to-go orders were picked up by othere restaurant staffers - good sign to me. more

Very nice teeny little place for a quick relaxing lunch! Food is very unique, healthy, tasty. The wasabi sauce is heavenly! It will get you addicted. The ahi tuna salad or wraps are best. The hibiscus tea and lemonade mix was excellent. more
This is a sweet place to go if you are vegetarian, or just want something quick, fresh and healthy. The wraps are large. Some of the choices include whole wheat, seafood, brown rice, tofu, vegetables, and other light nutritious options, and are ready within minutes. more
