Great Japanese food here on Kauai. Popular place and great selection of food. Enjoy a sake with your sushi!

After living on Kauai for 25 years this is still my favorite restaurant. Always fresh fish, soft shell crab hand roll better than anywhere, and low price hot pots.

This is not Roy's Hawaiian, thank goodness. The decor is certainly not pretentious. The service is pleasant and the sushi is basic and very good. If you are looking for chi-chi sushi find a Roy's. Kintaro is basic but fresh fish and well worth a visit.

I stayed close to this restaurant and the parking was always full (IN LOW SEASON). Important to make reservations. Me and wife walked in not knowing this and had to wait 10-15 minutes. While we waited, a server offered us drinks in a waiting area. We settled up there then went to our table for food. The sushi was great,... More

We made reservations for dinner for 10 people at a Tappan Grill table. We were promptly seated after most of our guests arrived. Our chef was a young man who seemed to be new at the job, and he was very personable and courteous. The food was very good and well prepared. He took the special vegetarian requests very serious... The Green Tea mud pie was the bomb!! The staff was extremely friendly. I also ordered the Hanalei Roll which was very good. Recommendation came from a native so I knew the food would be awesome!

The sushi was just basic. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but there isn't anything I would die to have again. My husband had the shrimp teppenyaki which was awesome. Our server was kind of strange...he almost gave off a vibe of disliking tourists. Anyway, it was alright.
