The sushi was just basic. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but there isn't anything I would die to have again. My husband had the shrimp teppenyaki which was awesome. Our server was kind of strange...he almost gave off a vibe of disliking tourists. Anyway, it was alright.

This is a very popular restaurant. It is always very busy with both locals and tourists. It has quite a bit of noise. Service is good. They should offer more organic options however.

No matter what style of Japanese dining you prefer, you'll find it here. A spacious tatami mat room for these that prefer sitting on the floor; a sushi bar for yummy sushi, four teppan grills that seat eight each for those who like their food Benihana style and of course, traditional dining tables and chairs for everyone else. Best of... More

This place was just walking distance from our condo. Parking is always packed and my husband and I were wondering why there's a lot of cars around. One night we just walked in and got a table for two. The best miso soup ever! I tried the tempura bento box and hubby got the nigiri sushi. Expect to pay $20... More

Local beef that's the best steak we've ever had. Excellent sushi & sashimi, fresh, and cooked to perfection. All the locals will line up for Kintaro's so reserve a seat in the Sushi Bar or at the Teppan Bars for an amazing show that tastes as great as it looks!

This was our second favorite sushi place on the island. It was definitely the most reasonably priced. We went there once a week during our month in Kapa'a and even made the trip a few times when we stayed on the North Shore after that. Our favorite roll was the Bali Hai Bomb roll... couldn't get enough of that one.... More

I have travelled to a number of destinations across North America and abroad and to be perfectly honest Kintaro was perhaps one of the greatest disappointments. We visited based on a local's recommendation but would never suggest anyone else return. After waiting for 45 minutes patiently - I have waited longer for restaurants we love - Kintaro was a calamity.... More

Easy location if you are staying on the east side. Sushi was pretty good. Prices were okay. This restaurant was recommended by a local.

My wife and I are visiting Kauai for the 4th time. We have had the most wonderful experiences here over the past several years and this is the first time I have had to write a negative review. We were looking for a nice place to have dinner last night and the front desk agent at our hotel recommended Kintaro.... More
