Very nice place for sushi

We had a couple of local rolls and one sushi bowl. The fish quality was very good. The selection was excellent and the service was very good though not overly friendly. It gets busy so go early or make reservations.

Great selection, good food overall. Pleasantly surprised by the prices which were not bad for Kauai. Had to wait for a table both times we were there, but not for too long (we were there later than most, around 730/8). Check in staff was not the friendliest but wait staff was nice and professional. You can skip the dining area... More

The steak was good, but the sushi was terrible. They put too much rice in all of the rolls even though we asked for them to go easy. The wait staff is very unimpressive and don't really care about your dining experience. I wouldn't go back.

What a fun experience! Not the Bali Hai theatrics, but great food and fun. Edwin was personable and gave us the flavor of the islands and life here.

This place is so popular you need reservations. The food is good, though. A bit pricy, but the quality and service is good. The green tea pie was excellent.

We are part time Kapaa residents and live within walking distance of Kintaro. This must be the busiest restaurant in Kauai. There is a wide choice of foods, from sushi, to teppan to tempura dishes. All are very good and the portions are large. The people who work there are very nice and experienced. Kintaro has a large local clientele... More

Sorry for the headline, should have reviewed our breakfast before writing this review. Asahi and Saporro beer was just right! Sounds like a story from the three bears. My wife and I had a skewer of terriaki beef, best ever sauce and tender beef. We are not sushi experts, but we enjoyed it. Loved the ginger and the wasabi. My... More

Plan ahead and go as early as you can. Usually very busy. You can eat at the bar if small party. Great service, consistently excellent food year after year.

The parking lot is always packed and there is always a wait time if you don't go early or very late. Once you eat here you will know why. The sushi is fresh...some of the best we have ever had. The restaurant is small but packs a lot of personality and charm. The workers make sure everything is right from... More
