Roll me out the front door!

The real plus of this place are the massive portions! Holy cow (I felt like a cow!). The downside is the sushi. Maybe it's that back home in Sacramento we have the greatest sushi restaurant in the world (Mikuni) but the sushi was too simple with no sauces or creativity to it. The teppanyaki... read more

We sat at the sushi bar. The fish was super fresh! They had a wonderful selection. The staff was very friendly. The prices were very reasonable. You have to try this place!

We could walk to this restaurant from our hotel. That is a plus! On a Wednesday night the parking lots and tables were full with locals as well as tourists. A wide variety of dishes from Teppan-yaki to sushi. All was well-prepared and nicely presented and served. A really special place!

we didn't do the benihana-type thing - we only had sushi - we had super fresh, delicious, wonderful sushi for a fraction of the price that we get it in CA - simply delicious - make a reservation or prepare to wait - nom!

What a letdown - we trusted TripAdvisor, the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook and local recommendations. I'm not sure one star isn't too high a rating. The high point was the salad dressing. Three sushi rolls were mediocre at best. One steak was average, one below average and the last was an exercise in frustration. First, the order was a filet mignon,... More

Me. wife. my Dad, my Mon. Very very low key people. Caucasian party of 4. Made a reservation; 6:30PM. Showed up early. Guided to the Tepan grill, and then, very strangely, left alone for 40 minutes. Eventually, walked to hostess desk and asked if there was some problem? Manageress showed up 5 minutes later offering discounts. I told her I'd... More

My wife and I love Tapanyaki cooking. Have been to many different places like this. We were even here 10 years ago. This time It was the worst we've had. The Cook was barley out of his teens. There was no showmanship with the meal just cooling it on the grill. He was very nice but said he was only... More

Great service and drinks. Large portions of low quality food. Sushi was poorly presented and questionable freshness.

This is a great restaurant to share with friends. We ate tapas style so it was a great way to try so many different dishes. The dynamic mussels were amazing. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived but they is a very nice waiting area with tables.

Many natives eat here. Make a reservation as far in advance as you can. Not cheap but excellent food prepared well. Ate at teppan table where can watch chef prepare your meal. Regular tables available also. Great sushi and sashimi as well. Dinner only. Parking on property and across the street.
