Me and my wife went here to have breakfast by the reviews we saw on tripadvisor. The restaurant has a European touch, but in a very tastfull way. The food we had was very good, and if you go there, you must try their quiche. It was just simply perfect. It is too bad that they are closed on mondays... More

Art Cafe Hemingway (4-1495 Kuhio Hwy, Kapaa, HI 96746 , tel. (808) 822-2250, http://www.art-cafe-hemingway.com/). The place looks lovely. We sat on the banquette and a chair in a corner and it was comfortable with the fan. The service was annoyingly slow. There was only one server but we don’t think that was the problem. We think that the kitchen was... More

If you are searching for a sophisticated cafe with excellent food and coffee, don't miss this place: it's busy for a reason. Our waitress was vibrant, attentive and lovely in amongst the hustle and bustle. Our americanos were beautifully drawn, and our quiches were gorgeous...creamy and fluffy! This cafe is truly a touch of Europe with a gentle, Hawaiian vibe.

A surprising find...Hemingway excels on all fronts: food; service; and ambiance. The quality of the cuisine is second to none on the Garden Isle. The decor is simple, yet elegant and sophisticated - a restored and rustic island effect. Beautiful and interesting artwork accents the atmosphere. We lingered over a late lunch and made reservations for dinner on Wednesday...as they... More

The chef, Jana, is an artist of culinary delights. The food is not only delicious but artfully presented. I had the scallops with angel hair pasta. The mixture of flavors was an incredible surprise. It has to be the best scallop dish I have ever experienced. Now I'm waiting for the chocolate soufflé. But had to write a quick review... More

This is a fantastic breakfast spot. Wide plank wood floors, wreck jars as orange juice cups, a bit of Hawaiian kitsch and good coffee. We had scrambled eggs, cheese, bread and all was delicious. The only down side was that service was slow, but with an island breeze coming in the windows and water views, it wasn't hard to acclimate... More

I have visited Hemingways twice. Both times I left feeling a bit frustrated because it has SO much to offer in terms of ambiance, the friendly foreign proprietors, and the delicious food and drinks, yet there are definitely some issues. First, although the owners are very warm and engaging, the employees are definitely lacking in many ways. On both visits... More

Wonderful gorgonzola and porcini quiche for lunch. Staff was attentive and polite. Prices were lower than you'd expect. Interesting and reasonable wine list. I'm really puzzled by the "bad" reviews. We liked the restaurant so much, that we crossed the Kuhio highway outside and got a price list from a nearby hotel so we could stay in this part of... More

We had an amazing time in Kauai and this place is the only regret we have...what a waist of time and money. Service was bad, we waited 35min for two appetizers, nobody went to check on us during the wait, the food was very average, it was extremely hot inside and we had to wait another 20min for our check.... Something different in Kauai. They serve a european style menu. Nothing else like it that I know of in Kauai. Great Quiche, fresh squeezed oj. Lots of yum. If you go there expect to be there awhile. Its rare that you get in and out under an hour. Expect that you''ll be there for much longer if they are any... More
