Confusing menu, but good food

Got a plate lunch and beer to go (you can't drink on-site). Lots of locals and they know the ropes so it was hard to figure out the (tiny) menu and how to order. But once we figured it out, got back to the room and yum! Ono food.

Tiny pastries that look like dumplings are delightful. Locals are very kind. They even have an official on site to issue marriage licenses. Odd combination, but perfectly convenient if you are having a destination wedding and dint want to drive to the city.

Amazing lunch, delicious poke bowls, super inexpensive! Pono Market looks like a hole in the wall, but it's fantastic food for an unbeatable price. My kids, who do NOT eat raw fish, scarfed the sesame ahi and the shoyu ahi pokes like they were candy, and I almost stabbed my husband with my fork when he tried to take the... More

You can buy poke at Safeway, but why would you? Pono is the real deal for a Hawaiian lunch. We had poke rice bowl, excellent! Tried spicy and sesame ahi. Sesame was good, but the spicy kicked. Will be back!

Great place to get freshest poke in Kapaa. The locals love it, too and prices are good. Take out with a couple tables on the sidewalk for great people watching.

As a local, I can tell you first hand... The Pono Chicken Rocks! Pono market always delivers a consistent product, any day, any time, everything is always first rate. There ala carte servings are a great way to put together a quick and cheap beach lunch for you and the family. We use them all the time, either bringing back... More

A local told me about Pono Market. Me and my husband passed by it before and didn't even think to go inside. I was happy that we were told about this place and were able to experience their delicious food. It is hands down the best place to eat in Kapaa. My husband and I ate their lunch special. I... More

You know you hit a great place when the majority of customers are locals. The coffee shop and the lunch takeout are owned by brothers. The staff is very friendly and patient with the tourists. I ordered the lau lau chicken. Very tasty. Had the apple manju which had the flakiest and light crust. It tasted more like a mini... More

Loved my meal here! We stopped it around 11:45am, just as the lunch rush was starting to hit. The poke was fresh and very reasonably priced. The folks working behind the counter were very friendly and welcoming to visitors who needed time and assistance to order. I ended up asking for a combination that wasn't on their menu but the...
