We had both breakfast and lunch at this place more than once. Great variety, prices and quality. Seating is tight, but never a problem getting it.

Good coffee...they have a nice offering of above standard roasts from Hawaii and other areas. They also sell small bags of estate grown coffee from Hawaii and coffee regions around the globe. The Moloka'i Coffee in the bag with the picture of the donkey was really great. Java Kai offered to grind whatever fresh whole bean coffee we bought. Service... More

This place was one of our favorites for coffee while we visited Kauai. Their coconut mocha puts anything from Starbucks to shame and the service is friendly and quick. A MUST try

A nice little place for coffee and breakfast. The coffee was good. I had a Power Bowl which is not on my usual list but it was good, Egg, beet, bacon and bean sprouts. They forgot to make my wife's order but when we asked, they whipped it up quickly and gave her a dessert as well.

Java Kai had great coffee and juices. For breakfast and lunch they offer GF English Muffins and tortillas and had a few options like a power bowl and salad that didn't have bread at all. I added them to my list of gluten-free options in Kauai: http://raeraegoesreal.wordpress.com/2014/03/06/gluten-free-on-kauai/

This is a tiny place on the highway in Kapaa with outstanding muffins. We had coffee there twice (because of the muffins) but both times it was weak like tea.

Discovered this great little (and I do mean "little") while on this trip. Was very impressed that our server got our names the first day and even with her days off, she remembered them! Get there early for best pastry selection (they are delicious!). So many different coffee (both hot/frozen/cold) selections, it's sometimes hard to choose which one to have... More

We were excited about going to Java Kai because we prefer to support local coffee shops. Our first visit was average, the coffee good and the service full of attitude. We went back the next day and the register girl was a bit snotty but the barrista friendly and the coffee great. on our next visit we decided to not... More

Coffee was good, better than Starbucks, but not our favorite Hawaiian coffee. Pastries were excellent, staff friendly, great place to sit outside and read, sip coffee chat with locals. My taro burger was very good, with spicy barbecue sauce. Husband's Surfer Girl was also good. Worth a repeat visit.
