Going downhill.

We have been coming to Tahiti Nui for years. We look forward to the fun that we have always associated with this restaurant. Last week was a disappointment. The Mai Tail was substandard and the waitress repeatedly seemed to ignore us. She was not very welcoming.

Historic bar with many photo moments; nice local servers; Sunday night had very good male singer. Has pre-mixed 'famous' Mai Tais with dark rum. Open air with modest air circulation.

It's a must stop spot on the north shore for many reasons. If you've just heard of it recently it's likely due to its scene in the George Clooney movie, "The Descendants". But if you have the aloha spirit in your veins, it's a part of legend that is a must visit destination. You can feel the aloha rising up... More

We had a great time at this restaurant. It looks like a traditional restaurant, we went for dinner and there was a couple singin Hawaiian Music and playing the Ukulele, which was a nice touch. The service was good and the pizzas were very good. We also had a couple of cocktails before dinner! It is a very nice place... More

We went here to have dinner on Monday night and placed an order. It took 50 min for them to bring food and they did so only after we told them we decided to leave and cancel our order. The waitress never even checked on us once. Find different place to go to next time

A trip to Kauai isn't complete with a visit to Tahiti Nui. Yes it's become more crowded since the word is out and prices have gone up, but we still love it. We like to come for lunch to eat and then come back at night for live music. Try the ahi sandwich and the kalua pork sandwich. Both are... More

Known for their Mai Tai's, and their happy hour takes 3 bucks off. They were very tasty...we enjoyed several. They have great live music 6-9 as well and a Luau on Wednesday.

The entertainment at the Tahiti Nui Luau is terrific; the Hawaiian music and hula and fire dancers are wonderful. Though no one really wants to hear "Tiny Bubbles" at an "authentic" luau. The food was fine, but not special, though it was interesting to see the Kalua pig actually taken out of the imu before it was served. The Mai... More

We had been looking forward to checking Tahiti Nui when we explore the north of Kaua'i. We had heard them discussing it on the rasio, seen ads in the paper and we had also seen it in The Descendants (of course). However the food and service were a little disappointing. As soon as we sat down a lady came over... More

Visited Tahiti Nui in August 2015 while in Hanalei. Great bar/restaurant with a local feeling and flair. Stephanie was our waitress/bartender and was extremely nice. We had the pizza with ham, pineapple and jalapeños! It was delicious. Cindy loved her Mai Tai and said is was the best one she had during our 10 visit on Maui and Kauaʻi. We... More
