Exactly what we're looking for!

We loved 'The Descendents' so much and when we planned a trip to Kauai and realized Tahiti Nui was where a scene from the movie was filmed, we felt we needed to make a pilgrimage! We went for lunch after a.m beaches. Our waiter was clearly covering the entire restaurant but she was so gracious and... read more

Spent time there for St Pat's and enjoyed it. We were surprised to find out the food was really good. Didn't see that coming

Monday night was slack guitar night. Food was fantastic. Ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce was worth the wait. Small place get casual atmosphere

We came in the same time as a whole bus load of tourist. (We are locals) and I figured ok I can wait. But service was REALLY slow. It took her 30 mins to get to our table. Finally when the waitress came over, we knew what we wanted so we places out order. It took another 30 mins for... More

The food at Tahiti Nui is mediocre, but it is a very popular place--one of the oldest bar/restaurants on the north end of the island, made even more popular by the movie "The Descendants." The musicians who perform here play real Hawaiian music and they were all in the movie.

Tahiti Nui is a fun place - we had the pork and a burger and both were great. Service is a little slow, but that just allows time for people watching and taking in the atmosphere.

We had to wait awhile to get a outside table. Once seated the waitress was very nice. Pizza was good. Band was good. Fun place. We returned later in the week and were told we could not sit at a table because we only wanted drinks at the time and were undecided on whether or not we wanted to eat.... More

We went back to Tahiti Nui (again) in february and, as usual, had a great time! Cold beer and pizza, fun (and very busy) the 2 times we were in this trip. Julia was friendly as always and we would go back again in a heartbeat. I can't understand the negative comments about this fun bar. It is what it... More

When we ordered our lunch from a young, somewhat distracted waitress, we clearly asked, in unaccented, American English , for our order as follows; "We'll each have the Pork sandwich, and we'll share the large Salad." When our lunch finally arrived -- at least a half hour later (although the restaurant was no more than 2/3 full) we got the... More

We were told by friends to try the MaiTais and since we were really hungry we decided to have lunch too. We should have known something was up when we walked in and a large table was sitting there full of dirty dishes. It remained un-bused for the entire 45 minutes we sat at the bar. We were never greeted... More
