I loved the ability to try and enjoy local foods and flavors. And it is a fun setting. You meet people and chat. Each course is explained (tho a small print out would be nice also so you can remember later when you are showing people your pictures or even the chalk board filled out to take a quick picture... Had a wonderful meal and met great people. There were about 5 or 6 picnic style tables seating 8 people at each one. Water and mason jars were provided. We brought our own wine and wine glasses. The service was very friendly and the food, the food!!! OMG!! The freshest, most delicious meal EVER!!! Our meal started with sliced/cooked taro... More

If you're a "Puff the Magic Dragon" fan and you find yourself in Hanalei, this is the place to go. Go ahead and read the reviews so you'll have a good idea of what to expect. The food is excellent, which you should also expect given the $50 per person cost, but what sets this catering company's "restaurant" apart from... More

Make reservations! Go! This was a wonderful experience. Four of us at a table for 8, so met 2 other couples. Five courses for $50, a real deal in Hawaii. BYOB and wine glasses if you don't want to use Mason jars. Our first course was taro, 3 preparations, and delicious. Next, fresh kale and a bite of smoke-brined butterfish... More

If you've read previous reviews, there's not much more that I can add about the quality of this food. This truly is an exceptional dining experience and a memorable meal. We were not able to return to Kauai Ono on our recent visit due to the dates that we were on the north shore, so keep in mind, I am... More

This was a very unique experience that I would repeat over and over again. Justin, the amazing Chef of the Gourmet Restaurant on Wheels served up an absolutely superb local organic meal that can compete with the best of the best! The rustic setting just added to the whole exoerience of eating local in the open air under a tent... More

We decided to give Kauai Ono a try after reading the reviews and wanting something different. We were not disappointed! It was BYOB which is nice. The local food and attentive service were great. We had the same meal that the previous reviewer described. The butter fish was outstanding! Sitting under the tent with fellow friendly diners helped make the... More

We went here for the experience of something non-traditional . Good concept but verdict still out. Chef came out to say that it was a four course meal instead of five due to weather. We are not sure what he meant by weather because it was so beautiful the whole day. Food was very good and fresh , however, portions... More

In a place filled with all to many restaurants that seem satisfied to serve one meal to a visiting tourist, this place is the real exception. Under a white tent serving a fixed five course meal the chef and his staff aim to please and go to the trouble of explaining each course. Featuring local ingredients whenever possible and unique...
