I have been going to this place for over 20 years. For a sweet treat it is the place to go. Brownies, coconut cake, and a quick breakfast. Local flavor- very polite staff. You will get a sense of what is happening in the community and the gossip by hanging around.

Loved the plate lunches and pies, wow. Chile pepper fried chicken was crispy and spiced up with "Chile Pepper Water" sauce, a true Hawaiian recipe. We took some chocolate haupia pie and coconut cream pie home for a late afternoon tea snack and it was delish!

If you want real Hawaiian local food this is the place to go. We always head here after church on Sunday morning, they have great mixed plate, yummy cookies and Haupia and pies. A true local gem!

You'll know what I mean if you know what musubi is. Get there early. Part of the fun is talking with the ladies behind the counter. Hawaii's version of a South Philly bakery. One of our favorite spots.

We ate there twice and both meals were delicious. The spicy fried chicken and mahi plates were yummy. And loved the lady behind the counter was just precious. They are only open until 4:00.

I've been to Village Snack and Bake Shop previously and wanted to show my family members where to get a true Hawaiian breakfast of Spam and Loco Moco. Many local people eat here and not too many tourists know about it. I heard about from a bell man at The Princeville Resort (now St Regis), the last time we were... More

I had read about Loco Moco being a local specialty on the islands, so I was happy to see it on the menu here where our tour bus driver dropped us for an hour of shopping and lunch after touring Hanalei Bay/Pier. The plates were ready quickly and we loved the Loco Moco with brown rice. They had huge hot... More

A local favorite and I can see why....it was great so we went twice! The spicy chili fried chicken was the best! It came with brown or white rice and green or macaroni salad. The baked goods were super also. Too much food for a lite lunch!

Call me crazy, but I love walking into a small cafe or dive where loose-leaf paper or colored construction paper signs, announcing additions to the menu umpteen years ago, are yellowed or faded with age. In the right restaurant, it's absolutely charming. Kuddos Village Snack Shop. Visited last summer for the sole purpose of tasting that famous Haupia pie. Out... More

We ate lunch and breakfast here. The chili pepper chicken is moist fried chicken thighs dipped in a mildly spicy pepper sauce. It was served with brown or white rice and choice of Mac salad or green salad. For $9.50, you can't go wrong. Breakfast was tropical pancakes - banana, macadamia nuts and coconut in the batter. Yum! Husband had... More
