Great malasadas, and very tasty breakfast sandwiches

We are a family of 7 and stopped in for breakfast sandwichs and drinks after church-- Delicious! Only thing better were the malasadas we got for take-out another morning. Nice people too.

We went here on a rainy day to try the chile chicken which was highly recommended by others. However our experience was not good at all. The service was not friendly at all (which we could have still accepted if it were very crowded but it wasn't). The food was oily, smelled weirdly and didn't taste any different than what... More

The fried chicken was recommended by more than one local (they call it the Snack Shop), so my husband and I each ordered one - he with green salad and I with macaroni salad. The service was quick and the food very good. Chicken was moist and flavorful throughout. We ate outside in the courtyard and enjoyed people-watching. Just a... More

Family was searching for local bakery to obtain a birthday cake. They searched for the Village bakery and snack shop after speaking with concierge at hotel. The Haipua is wonderful. We had vanilla (pudding type filling on shortbread topped with coconut whipped cream), coconut nirvana. I will be a repeat customer. They also offer an assortment of baked goods and... More

and the food was ok, but well priced. No atmosphere at all and not much of a welcome, but if you need a quick breakfast, this will do.

This is a hole-in-the-wall favorite. Chili pepper chicken and vanilla/chocolate haupia pie. Period. I jump at any excuse to go north shore around lunchtime. In fact I call in my orders on the way there. If you're expecting pleasant decor or even hospitable service, you're missing the point. I've been given stink eye attitude (once or twice) here and this... More

Read the reviews. What is going on? This a small, nondescript, hole-in-the wall - in a tacky touristy type mall. Dated, dirty, depressing, disappointing. Straight 'D's here. Caters to cheap take-out. Skip this "bakery" and go across the street to cleanliness and healthier fare.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The desserts were good; we had the coconut cream and banana cream pies and were impressed. The cheeseburgers we purchased were average but the service wasn't particularly friendly and, at times, somewhat rude. Possibly a cultural difference but still not my favorite. This place was significantly cheaper than other restaurants in the area.... More

We met our friend here for lunch. He is a local man and knows his restaurants. This little place is very popular at lunch time with locals. Order at the counter from friendly ladies who are very patient! They will holler your name when your lunch is ready! Their special chile chicken is spicy and tasty.....too spicy for my husband...just... More

Yummy baked goods and very tasty loco mocos with perfectly cooked eggs. We usually stop here for a hearty breakfast before hiking the Kalalau Trail or kayaking the Kalihiwai and Hanalei Rivers. No ambience – the place is located in a place as old as the time in Chin Young Village, but that doesn’t take away one bit from the... More
