good food--can be pricey, but values are there

We ate dinner here our first night at the hotel. While the prices were a little steep, we thought the food was really good. And actually my dinner, the seafood boil, was a good value at $29. Spouse had a seafood pasta dish that he enjoyed very much. We also enjoyed the happy hour drink... read more

We ate here for lunch and went back again for breakfast. The food was yummy and the ambience was so pretty. Being in Hawaii everything moves much slower than anywhere else so make sure you are not in a hurry. Our server was quite nice though.

Beautiful and delicious breakfast buffet. Silly to order a la carte since all the same things plus much more provided in buffet at much lower cost. Marriott elites get a good discount as well.

Outdoors at the Marriott with the sunsetting. Good food, great company, good time. We went on a Monday expecting the good to be half price as in the past, but they said they no longer offer half price on Mondays. That's why it was so empty. We still stayed. The food was excellent, the service though was very slow. Very... More

While we stayed at this Marriott we ate here about 4 times. The fish tacos and onion rings are very good and the portions seem fair even though it is pretty pricey. Bar drinks are not too bad, I had a few of the signature drinks. After about 3 drinks at $10-15 a drink I drank water. Breakfast buffet is... More

During our stay at the Marriott Waikola Beach we ate in the Hawaii Calls restaurant on several occasions. The food was good but the best part was the staff ... Always welcoming and willing to help.

Sometimes you don't feel like leaving the resort, so you'll settle for the hotel restaurant. This is the only restaurant at this Marriott, so you're stuck with the high prices. The restaurant is pricey, as you would expect. The breakfast buffet, which has a great variety, is $29/person. I also ate dinner there once. The food is average. The service... More

We ate here one night while staying at the hotel. Food was so-so, though the crab claw and prime rib buffet was really crab legs. The prime rib was a nice, tasty steamship roast beef. It was typical hotel fare. The atmosphere was beautiful though, sitting outside in the tropical setting.

I don't care for the restaurants with a captive audience - usually leads to substandard service and food quality. However, our evening at Hawaii Calls turned out to be a great night. We had the set menu with 4 courses and everyone enjoyed their dinner. Service was friendly and timely. Resort pricing as expected.

Good restaurant that is very convenient if you are staying at the Marriott Resort or other nearby location. The only thing I would not recommend is the seafood buffet. For the price, I did not find that it served sufficient seafood.
