Great food, prices are a little high

My husband and I really enjoyed the mixed drinks and the steaks we ordered, but it was a little pricey.

This restaurant, on one end of the HWV resort over the pool area, has great food, and an even better view. As "Makai" guests (the type of room we were in at the resort), it seemed they gave us a choice table, outside, right on the embankment overlooking the surf. The sun goes down at ~7:15 this time of year,... More

Even though you have to pay a fee per person to guarantee a table on the lani it was well worth it. For that fee you were given, not only your table on the lani, but were greeted with sparkling wine and an amazing tuna appetizer. The service was amazing. Food was even more amazing. And the sunset could not... More

The atmosphere? How about sitting on the edge of the Big Island -- literally on the edge! -- with waves crashing 20-feet below your feet, the sun setting in front of you, the silhouette of cloud-shrouded Maui off in the distance to your right, and impeccable service with a ready smile and a helpful pour of golden bubbly effervescence! The... More

the biggest difference from our last visit was electing to dine inside as the last time, all of us got chilled in the evening breeze (remember, we are local and anything under 70 deg. is chilly). all of us ordered the braised short ribs and it was very good. adding more sauce would have been perfect but even then, it... Sat next to the ocean for our 20th anniversary dinner, which was gorgeous, but there were tiny bugs (smaller than ants) that kept biting my feet. This distracted from an otherwise lovely dinner. I recommend looking at the ground for these little biters before being seated. But definitely worth going for the sunsets!!

Fantastic dining experience. Get a sunset reservation on the lanai. One of our best dining experiences ever.

Outstanding views of Maui and sunset from the outdoor patio. Food was excellent especially the fresh fish, pork chop special, and surf and turf. Service was very good. Dessert menu needs to to be improved and expanded.

My husband and I dined here last night and LOVED it! We sat outside with a view of the water at sunset - beautiful!! Our waiter was very friendly, took pics for us, and gave us great recommendations for the menu. We ordered the Maui Onion Rings as an appetizer (which are made with Maui Onions and Filo dough, yum!!).... More

My wife and I eat at this restaurant ever couple of years or so when we want good meat with a gorgeous view (we live 70 miles away on the other side of the island). Both the food and service are excellent. Sit outside overlooking the ocean if the wind is not blowing too hard. We had lamb and a... More
