i understand that when the location of your restaurant is very convenient for thousands of tourists, you can put a price on this convenience and offer below average quality. who doesnt just want to walk from their hotel for dinner? im willing to accept this tradeoff except when it comes to sushi. if you have time and dont mind driving... One of the worst restaurants. Way overpriced and doesn't show with good quality of food. I felt so ripped off because they charge premium tourist price. I ordered a ramen, there's just ramen, one piece of shrimp and dark colored pork which seemed unfresh. Very small portion. Usually ramen comes with some vegetable, at least some corns but this one... I went with high hopes. Ordered the misoyaki butterfish, the salad with plum dressing/vinaigrette and their special granny smith ice cream pastry tart. Of the three the fish was the best but not as good as the same fish I ordered at Monstera. The salad was just ok but I was expecting something much better. Really average at best. The... More

This is an average sushi restaurant, with a huge menu. Everything my wife and I tried was good, but the attention to detail just wasn't in the food. The deep fried ice cream is a must try.

I have been to both Sansei restaurants on Maui, in Waikiki and now this in Waikoloa. Though they added more restaurants, Sansei manages to keep up their very good food for an affordable price.

There are no locals eating here, that's the first clue. The place was full of early bird discount customers when we arrived at six thirty. We were greeted by a talented server named Nikki. They bragged about their award winning Asian Shrimp Cake and their mango salad crab roll. The Shrimp cake did not resemble one. There was a pile... More

Love the mango crab salad rolls and the fish tacos but everything is so good! It's hard to wrong. We don't eat a lot of true sushi (preferring veggie rolls and cooked options) but we never struggle to find something delicious. This place is consistently busy and it's worth making a reservation to avoid a wait. Prices are high, but... More

The service was fast and there seems to be a high turnover for the fish which is always a good thing. The rolls are pretty inventive and with a lot of sauces. Didn't see any Japanese tourists here in this sushi bar so definitely not for sushi purists.
