Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano...
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

Cozy, homey atmosphere, good food

During a family vacation to Volcano National Park on the Big Isle, we had dinner at the Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant. The dining room has a very homey, comfortable feel, the wait staff gracious and attentive. I had the Chicken Tuscany, tender fillets in a light, white wine sauce with grapes. Two... read more

Given the scarcity of restaurants in the area,it`s almost compelled to go from here. The menu offers many varieties and specialties. Unfortunately, the price range is a little high, but worth it,we eat really well. Great service. Beware of fake lamps on the table, they are hot. Bookings are highly recommended. You can wait, too long.

We were set for a special dinner on Father's Day night. I had a rack of lamb ($38) made with a ginger mint sauce that was outstanding. The rack was meaty and well presented. The setting was rustic elegance, and the service was friendly and efficient. After dinner we went back to see the glowing volcano, great way to spend... More

This restaurant has a warm, welcoming, and casual feeling, and it was fun to look at the big fireplace with its international references. Service was good, and we enjoyed the food, although it seemed a little less impressive than the prices would have warranted - but maybe that's just Hawaii. We would happily go back, but if you're looking for... More

We ate in the bar lounge to avoid having to make reservations in the main restaurant. We actually put our name on the wait list (told it would be about 30 minutes) and left the property to freshen up at our off-site accommodations. We were seated promptly upon our return. The view of Kilauea was spectacular but even had it... More

Prices are high, service is good, some food choices are okay- e.g. fresh fish, while lamb dish is outstanding. Significant other is still raving about the sauce used on the lamb.

This is a good restaurant in a very cozy lodge. The family had antelope burgers and I the chicken curry. All good and affordable at about $12-$15 per entree. Nice gift shop too. Recommend!

The prices were high and the food quality was low. We have eaten here many times before and were never disappointed until this time.

Former YMCA lodge has the air of an European Hunting Lodge. Food is very good, extensive wine list and and the service is first rate. Make a reservation due to popularity. Check catch of the day which will be at market price, I had lobster tails.
