Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano...
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

Delightful restaurant in middle of National Park

Trapped in the middle of the National Park with few dining options, it was a pleasure to find that the accommodation restaurant served top class fine wines and food!

So we went based on reviews and the setting is awesome. It's such a cute restaurant and they are so welcoming. We immediately were greeted and led to our table. The server was quick to greet us and give us the specials. The appetizer was good, but nothing extraordinary. We got the house made soups with our entrees since it... More

I decided to make dinner reservations here since dinner on a Sunday night can be hard to find especially in and around Volcano. Many restaurants are closed. I highly recommend the soups. I loved my Alsatian soup and my husband really enjoyed his curried pea soup. Then we had breast of duck and "ahi" the fresh catch of the day.... More

The lodge itself is gorgeous with the fireplace being the highlight as it has coins, small plaques, engraved stones etc from around the world and quite old. We have actually eaten here many times over the years, of late it was come to rely too much on the tourist trade and not the local folks that enjoying dining out. The... More

We stayed in nearby Volcano National Park and were looking for something for dinner and happened upon this place. It has a really nice eclectic atmosphere. The menu was wonderful, my husband had antelope ( which he had never had and loved !) My son said he had the best steak he has ever had, and I had a wonderful... More

Really good food served in nice environment. Service could be improved - e.g. if you arrive earlier and your reserved table is not free you have to wait within an ugly gift shop. They do not offer any drinks in the meantime

After some outstanding hiking in Volcanoes National Park, we drove to the nearby town of Volcano for a break & dinner, before returning to view the nighttime spectacle of glowing gases above the Halema’uma’u Crater. Kilauea Lodge took me by surprise. The building dates back to the 1930s & manages to feel like a wonderful forest lodge in the European... More

We enjoyed our dinner at the Kilauea Lodge. Be sure to make reservations! We enjoyed great service, had our water filled often, and enjoyed the ambience. We sat at a small table near the large fireplace, so it was a little quieter there. The restuarant is one room, with wooden tables, each with a lamp and flowers atop. There were... More

We arrived and didn't know there were very few places available to select from. This place had a great selection of nice food which was very good, but was a little pricey for what we had.

The wine was good... but even that was overpriced. Worst meal and experience on Big Island so far, taking advantage of tourists with high prices and below average food quality. We'd been told of an upscale German restaurant in Volcano, and on first impression it was cute, chalet-style and cozy. On closer inspection it appears to be the result of... More

Yikes! I'm speechless. This writer had a really bad night and it sounds like we had a really bad night. I don't know where to begin. Guess I'll start with the ID crisis. If we go along with this interpretation of a blend of cultures, including foods, you'd have to say that all of Hawai'i has an identity crisis. Hawai'i... More
