Outstanding view, good food and service, pricey dinners

It's all good food, friendly service, fine wine, CCC lodge atmosphere, nice gift shops, large bar area, outdoor deck and patio area. At night during dinner hours they will occasionally turn off the lights so you can better see the crater activity and flaring. It is all a treat unique.

We stay here for two consecutive days. Had both the breakfast that was provided with our stay and two dinners. I love the service and the working with in dietary needs. One morning I wanted to have pancakes, but they are so large that I knew that I would be wasting food. The woman who took our order asked if... More

One of the best meals we're ever had. And such a beautiful special location. Tremendous chef! Mahalo for allowing us in without reservations.

This is a beautiful location really close to the Volcano Park. It is quiet and very clean. We loved the room and the restaurant is also quite good. We had breakfast the next morning and it was wonderful.

Enjoyed lunch here on our way up to see the volcano. I was not feeling up to par so my lackluster view of the food should be taken with a grain of salt - my husband enjoyed his burger and the service was very good. I'd go back.

I chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from the B&B owner and it delivered. It was one of the best dining experiences I had on the Island of Hawai'i. I highly recommend planning a visit when are visiting Volcano or Hilo. Call for reservations in advance.

We had a wonderful dinner at the Lodge's restaurant. There was a glowing fire in the fireplace and a staff as warm as the fire! Our dinners were island style...large enough to share. The greens were fresh and locally grown and the soups were excellent! Our seafood dishes were delicious! Good wine selection too.Our waitress helped us out with places... More

Excellent battered zucchini and we each had a different soup, each delicious. However the main course was disappointing. We ordered fresh catch of Ono fish. It came over cooked with rice that tasted like rice a roni, not very good, (Uncle Ben's rice is top quality rice recommended by major chefs). The veggies were sautéed, various kinds, uninspired, no herbs or... There were 20 of us from a class that I was taking, there was plenty of room, great service, they catered to my diet, clean, nicely decorated and a fantastic little store tucked in the next room. all that paired with great company lead to a nice experience.

We were staying at the lodge so breakfast was included. Everything on the menus is great. We are dinner here every night. Portions are so large you could easily split the meal. There is a $10 charge for extra plates. Prices about $30-50 a plate. Extensive wine cellar list. Don't be put off by the ingredients list in the food.... More
