Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

We stayed at the Lodge in March and ate both dinners and breakfasts while we stayed. I have to say that all the meals that we had, were wonderful. My husband had the pappiettes (sp) of beef and loved it. Also had the prime rib and one of the fish dishes. The lillikoi margaritas are worth the splurge. It is... More

My husband and I celebrated our 36th anniversary with dinner at Kilauea Lodge. Have always loved the atmosphere there and were delighted it find it just as we remembered. We shared the baked brie appetizer which was nice but one too many flavors--could have done without the coconut crust. Salads were predictable. He thoroughly enjoyed his steak and I had... More

Hubby, friends and I ate lunch at Kilaeua Lodge on both ends of a backpacking trip in Volcanoes National Park. They have a nice selection of beer and a great menu, perfectly executed. The burgers were all perfectly done and rated a high score from my finicky chef-husband. The salad Nicoise was delightful as was the Portabello Sandwich. Service was... More

Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant was the perfect place to stop after a long day at the Hawaii Volcano National Park. Very quick service and a nice place to sit if you have to wait a few minutes for your table. Food was great. Price was a little high, but not higher than other Hawaiian restaurants. Beautiful furnishings and a nice... More

We stayed here for two nights in Jan and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with our 17 month old son. The room was perfect size for the three of us. We didn't have any issue with other guests being loud when he went to bed early after a long day of volcano exploring. The grounds... More

Had dinner last night 5/22/13. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were okay but were overly seasoned. The salads and dressings were amazing. I ordered the PAUPIETTES OF BEEF Rolls of sliced prime rib, stuffed with a blend of mushrooms, beef, herbs and cheese, crispy fried and topped with a Robert's sauce. Sounds good, right? WRONG!!! Horrible combination of herbs... More

We visited this place because of a suggestion by Meghan at Volcano Village Lodge. She said that it was one of the best places in Volcano. If this is one of the best the area has a few issues. We felt the food was expensive and the service average at best. The place is a nice place as it is... More

This is supposed to be the best restaurant in the tiny town of Volcano. We had duck and a beef dish. The food was heavy, German cuisine, rather bland, but nicely served. Staff was perfunctory and not too friendly.

We had breakfast here one morning and it was fantastic. We ordered an omelet and pancakes, and when the staff discovered (on their own without us saying anything) they'd given us the wrong food, they quickly prepared the food we ordered and also gave it to us free of charge. The staff was outstanding and the food was wonderful.

Expensive and below average food and service describes our less than romantic dinner at the Kilauea Lodge. The choices in Volcano are slim to very slim right now. So many places have gone out of business or closed that this could be the worst place in the area and it would still do business. My salad was okay, but the... More
