We ate at this restaurant our second night in Volcano and really enjoyed our food and dinner. This is by far the fanciest and most expensive place to eat in Volcano. They have your normal fish and beef dishes but also have many other unusual dishes such as antelope, ostrich, and venison. We chose to be a little adventurous and... more

Four of us recently ate at the Kilauea Lodge four times: two dinners and two breakfasts. For breakfast we can recommend the corned beef hash. The dinner menu is quite good; we had the Alsatian soup, seafood crepes, venison, lamb, and eggplant dishes. All excellent and beautifully presented. The house-baked bread is delicious. The wine list is not extensive, be... more

This place was really nice...they were put of some of the menu options, but all of our dinners were excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly, the place had a cozy feel, and the food was quite tasty. more

We stayed three nights and ate in the restaurant twice. Both meals were spectacular. Nice wine menu, too. The chef seems to have a strong German influence. My first experience with hasenfeffer, and the bar has been set impossibly high! more

Unique food in the heart of the Volcano -- very much a farm-raised hunting lodge, game-meat kind of place. I had antelope, for instance (which was delicious, by the by). Their lilikoi margarita (the rim powdered with li hing moi) was tops. But, best of all? The passion fruit pie. Ye Gods and Little Chefs, it was so good. The... more

We really enjoy our experiance here, there dinning room has a living room like feel, very welcoming and homey. After a day of hiking it was great to relax with sound of their fire in the hearth, and the wonderful flavors of there food. Very friendly staff. more

My husband and I ate here while staying in Volcano in a B&B. The menu is eclectic and if you are adventurous in trying new things, this place is for you. I had Ostrich filet and my husband had german sausage plate. Both meals were great and tasty. We also ordered a Brie cheese starter that was great. The service... more

We stayed at the Kilauea Lodge and had dinner two nights and breakfast two mornings here. The dinners were probably the best meals we had while we were in Hawaii (10 days), good menu variety, well prepared and service was first class. more

We had dinner here during a recent stay on the Big Island. As we were staying at the lodge on the property it seemed like an easy choice from a convenience point of view. We were very pleased with the choice. The food was excellent and served by a friendly and down to earth staff. If you are looking for... more

Yes, well, it is the best restaurant in Volcano, no argument there. The menu is eclectic, you may get duck ala orange, or perhaps a snitzel or Lord knows. I felt like there is a guy in the back that enjoys just coming up with new recipies and trying them out on diners, not exactly haute cuisine but nothing truly... more
