Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

This is the place to have dinner if you are in Volcano. Food is always excellent. Their Brie Cheese appetizer is always amazing. Whenever we stay in Volcano we make sure to have at least one dinner there, make sure you do too!

We had spent the day hiking in Volcanos Nat Park, and came here on the recommendation of our hotel hosts in Kailua. Gary was not wrong...simply wonderful meal. Wonderful atmosphere...great fireplace with various international pieces of memorabilia embedded in it. Rustic, but elegant...showcase local wares in their gift shop...a nice place. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodation was made... More

There are not many places for breakfast here. The lodge only has 4 suites and the food is ok, although the pancakes were kinda dry. I found the atmosphere very appealing and the staff were super friendly.

A great restaurant after a day of exploring Volcanos National Park. Wonderful atmosphere in this family run restaurant. Chef not afraid to be original. Excellent service on the evening we were there. We enjoyed Chicken Tuscany and Safari Schnitzel. Locals obviously enjoy the ambiance. Make a reservation. Every dish has a wine recommendation, which is very helpful. Desserts looked yummy,... More

This is a great place to stop on your way from Hilo to Volcano National Park. We had an excellent lunch. Fresh fish and local produce. Service with a smile and nice atmosphere. We were only in the Restaurant but the grounds and lodge look nice.

We arrived for a late lunch in Dec. 2014. The food had been prepared ahead of time and had been reheated. (they mentioned they only had 2 omelets left) The banana bread and some of the other food was still cold in the middle. Out of the 6 meals we ordered, 1 of them was good. The service was fairly... Been there two times already. Love the food, ambiance, and service. The menu always has either local treats or unusual offerings such as rabbit, bison, etc. There's also an excellent wine selection.

The menu here is very predictable as is the quality of the service, food and drinks. The fish of the day is always good with a nice selection of how to have it prepared. The drinks are fun and always good. This is not a great restaurant for vegetarians. The one Vegie dish on the menu (if you don't eat... More

Great brunch- absolutely delicious local-flavored French Toast with coconut syrup! This was the first meal of my honeymoon, and a great way to start.

The bizzare melange of flavours had and upside in that it detracted from the overheated and filled past capacity dining room. I would guess the chefs where experimenting with recipes. The meal was cool and forgettable. The server was only attentive when she produced the bill. Not an experience worth repeating.
