We ate here for our last night in volcano and it was pretty good. The atmosphere is intimate and pleasant--definitely need reservations as it was full. We both had the fish special--prepared different ways and both were delicious. Service a bit slow at times but we were not really there to linger for a long meal so part of that... More

This early 1900's YMCA lodge has been turned into a lovely, rustic lodge and restaurant. We ate lunch here on our way to the Kilauea Volcano National Park. I had a local white fish (ocono) sandwich with fries and a soft drink. The meal was excellent and served promptly by Rari. We also visited the little gift shop off the... More

I stopped for lunch and had a curry chicken salad a little unlike many curry chicken salad preparations, but it was good. I was told the food here was better than Volcano House but I found the food was equally good both places and it didn't have the view. Service was good, I was greeted promptly and it does seem... This is not a cheap place to eat but the food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. Our server was superb and was totally on top of the issues related to my gluten free dietary requirements. She clearly understood that this was a medical necessity and not a choice, and knew about often overlooked hidden... More

The place is for sale -- some lucky folks will take over this jewel of a spot. The food is terrific, hospitality splendid.

We sat down and we were greeted promptly. Believe the other people who tell you to get the liliokoi margarita. Its fantastic. I ordered the Filet of Antelope. My SO ordered the NY strip + lobster tail. We each got a salad to start. I had the herb vinaigrette and bleu cheese, he had just the bleu cheese. The vinaigrette... More

Food was first-rate, not cheap, not too expensive. Very pleasant old lodge room, very quiet customers, respectful of one another. Service good. Well worth a stop if you're near the Volcanoes National Park, even if you don't say at the Lodge (which you should).

I went to a 5 star restaurant in Malaysia, ladies wore ball-gowns and men wore tuxedo's and the restaurant in volcano exceeded the service standards of the 5 star restaurant! Such friendly helpful staff, always quick to refill drinks, take plates and help as they can! Great knowledge of the menu and full of recommendations! The serving sizes were perfect!... More

We ate here the first week of March going on all the recommendations that this was "the place" to eat in Volcano. We had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. Breakfast was better than dinner, but not by much. Very greasy and very weak coffee. Dinner was very expensive and not noteworthy.
