Description: Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.

The lodge is so quaint and cozy. The food is exceptional and the service impeccable. If you're in the area you have to visit this restaurant. The fireplace is a neat conversation piece, and I thought it was very cool that several celebrities have eaten there too.

My partner and I stayed here last minute, after we were left locked out of another accommodation that afternoon when we arrived in Volcano. Exhausted after that stress we were delighted to find an excellent room - very cosy and well appointed - and a terrific restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner - excellent service and hospitality- and a life... I went to the Kilauea lodge for lunch as a break from the day of sightseeing at the Volcano National Park nearby. The lodge looks very much like those remote log cabins you see in forested areas, and surprisingly, offered a good menu and delicious food. It was especially festive with the staff entering their home made wreaths into the... More

Had a great dinner with very helpful waitress and attentive staff. Very knowledgeable about their dishes and the meal was delightful. Love the fireplace. They were so nice to me and even allowed me to get a photo of their Christmas wreath competition entries.

What a great "find". This converted YMCA camp has been recreated into a wonderful restaurant. And a fun factoid - a read of the current owner's history reveals that the chef bought the property before he knew how to cook much at all - let alone handle a first-class restaurant. What a lot desire, interest and initiative can produce!! At... More

My husband and I have visited Volcano, HI four times in the past 7-8 years. We always stay at a tiny Inn near the Kilauea Lodge & Restaurant for a few days for each visit. We have breakfast at the Kilauea Lodge every day we are there because there are not too many choices close by. The restaurant has a... More

We dined here on the recommendation of the folks at our lodging management company. My wife and I didn't have reservations, but it was easy enough to get a table w/o a wait (although, the restaurant filled up completely fairly soon after we were seated). We sat at a small table near the fireplace. There is a couch in front... More

This is a wonderful place to grab some dinner, open late and you can see the glow of the crater from all tables. There was a guitarist playing, he was pretty good but he seemed to stop learning new songs right around 1978?

We arrived in volcano late and it was raining outside. We had already spent a week on the Kohala coast, so this menu was a nice change. I think we ordered a few drinks and the hunter soup, the antelope and sausage platter. The food was nice and comforting.

Call ahead a couple days to reserve your table - be sure to request a table by the window. View after sunset into the caldera was one to remember. Food and service were both very good.
