Good solid place in Volcano, which are hard to find

THis is a nice place to eat in volcano. There aren't a lot of reasonable priced normal restaurants in the volcano area besides this and a Thai place. They have a good variety of food from burgers, fish and Asian style food..If you want a treat, try the eruption burger!

My daughter enjoyed her Cheese Steak sandwich and I enjoyed a blackened fish salad. The coconut cream layer cake was good as well. One waitress was fantastic about giving recommendations about what to do near Volcano.

Great food and enjoyed the music! As North Carolinians, we were impressed to hear the live musician performing James Taylor in a Hawaiian restaurant!

We stopped here for a late lunch while visiting the Volcanoes National Park. The host showed us to the table and just put the menus in a pile at the end of our table. We only were given 2 sets of silverware and there were 4 of us. The waitress only asked if we wanted more coffee once and it... More

Stopped here at end of day of visiting the park. The menu had a nice variety and we were all happy with our choices. It is a diner overall. We were the last customers of the day and they did not hurry is out or make us feel like we should hurry. Saimen was good, salad and pizza were also.

Perfect for some good food in a local joint. Food is well prepared although we had to wait for it and it was not a particularly busy night. My husband had the fish and chips, we lived in England for a while so had our share. These were beyond excellent, best I've ever had. I had the local pork and... More

Went here after the volcano park. The service was good and so was the food. Nothing especially different but tasty. I had a philly cheesteak and it was good. Everyone's food looked good too. It has some nice decor and the staff were really nice. They also had some nice outdoor seating.

We were delighted with the food, service and music! Loved the local combo plates that were both delicious and filling. The service couldn't have been better and the icing on the cake was was the great singer/guitar player. It was one of our favorite meals at a more than reasonable price.

Lava Rock Cafe is a short drive from Volcanoes National Park. It's a expanded since the last time we've eaten there. The decor is a little rustic but it makes up with their food. The menu offering is pretty large and the prices were reasonable. I opted for the Kailua pork with rice and salad. Others had the saimin noodles,... More

We visited this eatery at the end of a Volcano Van tour as the tour operators wanted us to see the crater at night. The décor is basic and rustic, the menu extensive and the prices very reasonable. Obviously our tour operators visit here often so our service was very good. The highlight for us was when the singer sang... More
