Good place to grab a bit outside the park

The selection here was wide enough to satisfy most eaters. A nice display of large treats looked delicious. We had the chili bread bowl and the Portuguese bean soup in an attempt to warm up! Both were tasty, though the chili wasn't spicy, and it was different (in a good tasty way). I almost... read more

Checked TA before heading out to the volcano. Good move. This place has quality food and reasonable prices. Order inside and eat outside. Choice of 2 plate lunches or large pick your ingredients sandwiches. Super looking deserts. Salads and fruits in the cooler. Several soups including chili.

The lobby in this place might hold 4-5 people, so service is personal, not hurried, limited in selection, all the best reasons to visit here. Primarily they make to-order sandwiches, soups, salads and some desserts. We needed something for a hike in the nearby Volcano National Park and Eagles was recommended. What we ordered was perfect for take-along hiking, and... More

Note the name change! Affordable breakfasts and lunches to eat picnic-style while listening to hymns or to take out. Food is fresh; well-prepared and good value.

We ate there today after a hike at Volcano National Park. Their name is now Eagle Lighthouse Cafe. The sandwiches are huge: share if you have someone with you or order a half if you are eating alone. ( Or save 1/2 for later!) My husband and I had a sandwich made from their homemade cranberry macadamia nut bread. The... More

Normally I am not a sandwich person but, on my way to the Volcano National Park I had a catered sandwich lunch. The folks from Eagle's Lighthouse Cafe were waiting for our buses in the parking lot of the Jaggar Museum with coolers full of sandwiches and beverages and bags of chips. Now these were actually half sandwiches but much... More

We had the hamburger, fish sandwich, and lettuce salads. The salads were very fresh, the hamburger and fish were excellent and the buns were also fresh. I was impressed with the fact that when I checked with them about an earlier day, they told me they would be closed for cleaning.

Changed it's name and owner. Now Eagle Cafe. Still cramped inside but more roofing outside to be sheltered from the rain. Same cook. Same very good food but higher prices. Different specials every day ($9.95) Thursday, 2 big roasted chicken thighs with Parmesan crust with choice of rice and choice of salad. Big portion and fast and friendly service. Clear... More

We spent most of the day at Volcano National Park, but wanted to eat something before going back in for the night show. This place had good food , but was a little on the high side. Most of the staff was real friendly and the cooks were great. Our server was a little slow and we had to call... More
