Afternoon Delight

My husband and I ate here on the advice of friends who live on the Island. We sat outdoors under a garden umbrella and enjoyed the gardens! I had a piece of Spinach crustless quiche with a miso based soup, green salad, taro chips and iced tea. My husband had a Panini sandwich and the sides I had... read more

Just grabbed a coffee which was delicious. The grounds are adorable and Ira, the owner is a total sweetheart. I can't wait to go back and stay awhile longer.

Ono means delicious in Hawaiian and that's just what the food at Cafe Ono is…delicious but also healthy and nourishing as the ingredients are fresh, locally grown, organic, and made with care. While lunching in the beautiful garden, Ira Ono, the friendly and upbeat owner, will often entertain you with anecdotes about the history of the area, information about local... More

How cute is this little cafe! It is about a 5 minute drive from the national park and is also part of an amazing art gallery. It is quite small so reservations are recommended. We didn't have one but we browsed the lovely store while they got our table ready. I'd never tried an all vegan meal before, but I... More

Lunch menu highlited many healthy options, soups and salads and much more, everything locally grown. Dessert looked amazing but we were too full to eat. Staff was extremely friendly and the grounds are so pretty. Lucky to have found Cafe Ono!

The title says it all... there's not much else to say... this is a small cafe, off the beaten track, but well worth looking for... The food is fresh, tasty, delicious, organic (and tons of veggie/vegan options!) and we would not hesitate to recommend :-)

This café was recommended to us for tasty, locally produced, vegetarian organic lunches at decent prices. We got all that and more. We had only an hour between the film we saw at the park and the 2.5 hour guided tour we wanted to take into one of the volcano craters, and we still needed to eat lunch. The first... More

Just great lasagne and salad, fresh. Recommendation!! Go there, we've been on all islands and this is the best food we had!

Don't go if you are looking for a dead cow sandwich, but if open to trying beautifully presented, great tasting and creative vegetarian food, it is well worth traveling to the end of the road. Staff and owner are extremely helpful and friendly.

Our daughter discovered Ono's a few years ago and told us we had to stop in for lunch and to see the grounds when we were visiting Hawaii Volcano National Park. She was so right! The grounds are an eclectic mix of statuary, pottery, and plantings - very colorful and peaceful - well worth a short walk around. The official... More
