Casual place with really good vegetarian food. The owner is a world renowned artist and a very nice person. The art for sale there is great and the "secret garden" is really cool. Can't recommend this place enough!

Wow, what a great find! A very sweet spot with a lovely gift shop (local artisans) and peaceful gardens. Inside and outside seating. Food was very tasty (vegan and gluten free options). Service was quite friendly. Located at the end of the road.

Went for lunch after hiking in Volcanoes National Park. Greeted by the owner, who was charismatic and super welcoming! Saw people having a special birthday party there. A festive vibe! Carrot cake was outstanding and very fresh. Lentil soup was superb, too. Great food and...large portions. Tea Garden display and on-grounds art gallery. And huge pet rabbits. Great service and very lovely and peaceful outdoor dining.More

The setting is a very beautiful garden and the food was magnificent. We had just left the national park and were looking for a fresh meal and Café Ono did not disappoint. They offered both indoor and outdoor dining, and there was even a small...gallery to browse regional artistic items. Highly recommended.More

Ira was absolutely fantastic - welcomed us to his place and treated us like royalty! Sat at one of the tables in the back - had a real garden feel to it. Food was outstanding (had a homemade burrito special that was divine), and spent...some time after lunch shopping in the store up front. If you’re visiting Volcanoes National Park, stop in and say hello to Ira - this is a “must visit” if you’re in the area!!More

The food was so delicious, even for being vegetarian! It was raining when we went, and we ate inside of a greenhouse; a lovely experience. The ambiance of the restaurant and the tasty food is what elevated this experience for me as a tourist in...Hawaii. This place is great for people who are vegetarian and looking for something good to eat (even very good for non vegetarians like me!). I recommend the lasagna (vegetarian), it was some of the best lasagna i’ve had. Go check this place out!More

This was a most wonderful experience. We sat outside in the garden area and ordered our food. While waiting for our food to arrive, we browsed the beautiful art. The food was amazing, and the garden setting was idyllic. I would highly recommend this cafe...for anyone that wants a taste of heaven!More

Stumbled upon Cafe Ono with the kids, bought beautiful local art from the very beautiful, and peaceful art gallery, met Ira Ono, beautiful person, great artist, and creator of this great place. Loved this place so much, the wife and I went back for lunch,...having what I will say was the best meal we had in two weeks on this island, and we had some pretty good local eats along the way. The vegetable lasagna and mushroom seaweed soup was simply amazing and popping with flavor, every bite was filled with love and freshness. This meal made us feel very much at home! This will be a stop every time we visit this island, not once, but at least twice. Folks do yourselves a favor; slow down time, meet great people, partake in what is prepared for you, and walk in a spiritual place filled with very obvious aloha spirit! Live it to the fullest, your soul will be better for it! Many blessings and peace to all who made our experience memorable at Cafe Ono and gallery… see you next year!!More

Large portions, variety for people with food restrictions (vegan), super healthy and delicious!! I am vegan with a nut allergy and they accommodated to my restrictions. Staff are incredibly nice and they have an art shop inside that is full of cute items. Outside and...inside patio, beautiful garden outside as well! We will be coming back tomorrow before we leave!More
