Highly recommended - just off Highway 19 near Hawai'i Tropical Botanical Gardens

This cute spot is on the grounds of a farm and they grow much of what they serve right there. It is right on the four mile scenic drive off highway 19 and just about 1 mile from the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden. It is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch before or after a trip to... read more

Without question, a highlight of our trip. Simple yet great food in a wonderful setting. While it's off the 'main' road, this scenic detour is well worth the effort. Get there soon as it looks like it might change hands. The whole place is up for sale!

Before or after going to Boanical Gardens stop here for an excellent smoothie ( it is said that they do not use ice in their smoothies only fruit, no sugar, no water) . They are good. Nice assortment of food as well. This is a casual outdoor and take out place that makes their health conscious food from local products... More

My husband, infant daughter and I stopped here for lunch between visiting the botanical gardens and akaka falls. The meal was delicious, fresh and healthy. A tad expensive, but you get what you pay for - we each had a smoothie and wrap and won't need dinner (or a very small one)! There's a bunch of fruit trees - I... More

Do not miss stopping for lunch at the What's Shakin' (27-999 Old Mamalahoa Hwy. Pepeekeo, HI 96783). OMG, I am a total food snob (I eat at NYC and Boston fine restaurants on a regular basis) and boy was this a surprise! Farm-to-table fresh veggies, hand-picked ripe avocados, and the most delicious banana macadamia nut smoothie I have ever tasted.... More

My wife and I visited the Hawaiian Botanical Garden north of Hilo. After our time driving from Kona and the gardens we both were very hungry. My wife remembered when driving by this place to the gardens that it had food. What a great place. Food was fantastic and the smoothies to die for. Stop by and give this place... More

We had no idea this little outdoor cafe was here! After our visit to the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, we found this little gem on our way back to the main road. Fresh fish spinach wraps Mango Tango to drink and the most peaceful setting we have found on the Island! Everything was excellent. Order at the window from their... More

I read about this place on TA and made sure we stopped by. It's a sweet little place with fresh healthy food and very clean bathrooms. We had between us the fish wrap, ice cream and smoothies. All the food was great. It was a little on the expensive side but I guess that's the norm in Hawaii. I noticed... More

It’s a cute little stand off a scenic road and their claim to fame is fresh fruit smoothies and they are fantastic! They also serve really good lunch items, huge plates of nachos, really big chicken wraps, excellent hot dogs (organic) and several other interesting menu items. Still, the smoothies are the best and should not be missed. There is... More
