This is an absolute must on the Onomea Drive! The smoothies are FANTASTIC and made from fresh ingredients. Don't be deceived by the appearance of the place when you first stop by... it's ecclectic collection of gifts and memorabilia will make you smile! Walk up window to order with a few tables under an outside covering. We ordered our smoothies... more

The smoothies here aren't cheap, but they are very good! We stopped at What's Shakin' for smoothies on our way into Hilo from Kona, and again a couple days later for smoothies & lunch on our way back to Kona. I had a (turkey) hotdog, and my husband opted for the chili-cheese "Volcano Dog" special. Both were pretty good, and... more

This was the best lunch we had on our 10 day trip to Hawaii (big island). We stopped by here after our trip into the Botanical Gardens. Our wraps were served with the most wonderful salad and strawberry papaya. My mouth still waters for that fish wrap sandwich!! The smoothies!! ONO!! Every thing was fresh from their gardens. The atmosphere... more

The smoothies were the best I've ever tasted. I had a roast beef sandwich and some nachos. They were both really good. My son chowed down a pineapple muffin. Great place to stop on the way to the botanical garden or after. I'd def. go back sometime if we ever visit again. more

We stopped here on our drive from Kona to Hilo (we wanted to see Akaka Falls), and we had the biggest delight of our lives! The Aahvocado Wrap was the best wrap we have ever tasted. The smoothies are also made with fruit fresh from the farm- no fillers, only 100% fresh fruit! Absolutely delicious. We talked about it for... more

We live in lower Puna on the Big Island, and willingly drive fifty miles one way to obtain What's Shakin' smoothies! My personal favorite is the Blue Hawaiian...even their restroom is beautiful; it's decorated with vintage Vargas prints. When we were there two weeks ago, we had not had a day off in twice as long; we were immensely grateful... more

This little road side stand just north of the Hawaiian Botanical Garden is a fantastic place for lunch. The fishwrap sandwich I ordered was accompanied by a nice green salad and fresh island fruit. It was tasty, filling and only cost $10.00. The iced tea was delicious. more

Not to be missed, after you have visited the Botanical gardens just several miles north on Old Mamalahoa Hwy, you'll be ready for a bit of lunch or snack or early dinner bite. Stop in at What's Shakin. Look for the cheerful, traditional plantation-style, wooden smoothie shack in yellow and white with a green roof. This is Hawaii's version of... more

It's rare in life that you get a chance to try the "best" of anything. If you would like to try the best smoothies in the world, this great smoothie shack is the place to try the "best smoothie in the world" for a few bucks. Many of the ingredients are grown in the 20 acres above What's Shakin, and... more
