Good food at a good price

Good food at a good price. We came upon this restaurant almost by accident. We were driving down the road and wanting a place to eat. The staff was very friendly. Continuous movement of customers stopping by to eat or have a smoothie.

This out of the way food stand offers delicious smoothies in a variety of flavors; we were told that much of the fruit is grown on-site. We stopped mid-afternoon after visiting the botanical garden; only one other car was there, so we had quick service. Smoothies are pricey ($7) but a wonderful treat on a hot afternoon.

We got caught in the rain but there were plenty of tables in the covered patio and separate tables with umbrellas. The shakes were delicious and full of fresh local fruit. I had the special which was the vegetarian burrito. It have with a generous helping of fresh green salad and slices of papaya, mango and a rambutan. All the... More

We were hoping for a healthy and delicious lunch and that is what we got! My husband ordered the tamale plate and I ordered the frickin chicken wrap. Both lunch plates came with fresh fruit from the farm and a tasty green salad with a flavorful light dressing. Having eaten authentic tamales from San Diego, we were curious how good... More

The smoothies are terrific and the food is very good if a bit pricey. Note - when we were there in April, they had For Sale signs up so I do not know if it is still owned/operated by the same folks. If you are out that way, it is a nice place to stop for a break but I... More

Stopped here after visiting the Tropical Botanic Gardens. The "Revealed" guidebook mentioned that What's Shakin' is one of the few establishments that use frozen bananas instead of ice in their smoothies. This is probably the main reason why the smoothies are pricier here ($7) than at other establishments. As others noted, there is a bit of a wait even though... More

What's Shakin is one of my favorite places in the world. Start with the 100% fruit smoothies in various fruit combos. They use frozen banana instead of ice or milk. Add in a terrific lunch of local fresh ingredients. Fresh fish, enchiladas were our choices. And the location right on the edge of the fruit farm, next to banana grove.... More

We waited for an hour to get our food, unfortunately they believe someone else had grabbed our order. Once we got it, the food was really good.

Had the most DELICIOUS fish wraps served with fruit. We were also given a description of the farm and everything grown there by the owner/farmer. Quite a lucky find!!

I head on over when I get a craving for the mango tango smoothie. They also have good wraps. Pretty, relaxing location.
