We wanted to try their mexican breakfast plates and enjoyed the food overall. We've also been there for dinner and it can get loud when they're busy. The food has usually been good and timely when they don't have to much take out orders. I would recommend this restaurant for visitors to experience and I've always heard that they make... More

My family ate lunch here when we were on vacation in the Pahoa area. It reminded me of "traditional" Mexican restaurants i used to eat at in Los Angeles. Laid-back atmosphere with many locals.

We decided to visit this restaurant based on the rental company's recommendations, and because it was relatively close to Hilo. We visited mid-week hoping for some fantastic Mexican food but were a little disappointed. We had enchiladas, refried beans (my favorite and easy to fix), and rice. The rice was short on taste. The refried beans were a bit lumpy... More

Popular, charming restaurant in Pahoa. We’ve eaten here several times and recently stopped in for a late lunch after a swim at the pool. Same old laid-back atmosphere, cheery greetings from the nice lady at front counter, the familiar booth seats in the dining room and worn-out ceiling fans keeping the air moving. Warm nostalgic feelings every time we come... More

there was so much sauce and cheese everywhere that it was almost impossible to get the real taste of the food.

This was the happening place the night we went there for dinner. Live music could be heard in the street along with the chatter of the dining crowd. The service was quick and friendly, the food was very good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I have only good things to say about this restaurant.

We had dinner here one of our last evenings on the island. It's a casual restaurant which had live music when we visited. This place was recommended by locals so we figured it musts be good..and they were right. I had the bean burrito with green sauce which was very good and very filling ( it comes with guacamole but... I have been to this restaurant twice both for dinner and drinks. Once when it was very busy and once when it was practicality empty. The experience was the same. First the one and only positive which is their margaritas! They are excellent if you manage to get a hold of one as the service is horrible. The staff seem... More

Luquin's is popular for both food and drink, i.e., it is a bar as well as a restaurant, and sometimes comes with live music. Between the crowd and the music, it can be noisy (especially on Sunday nites when some other Pahoa restaurants don't seem to open)--whether that noise level is good or bad is a matter of preference, I...
