Popular, charming restaurant in Pahoa. We’ve eaten here several times and recently stopped in for a late lunch after a swim at the pool. Same old laid-back atmosphere, cheery greetings from the nice lady at front counter, the familiar booth seats in the dining room and worn-out ceiling fans keeping the air moving. Warm nostalgic feelings every time we come... More

there was so much sauce and cheese everywhere that it was almost impossible to get the real taste of the food.

This was the happening place the night we went there for dinner. Live music could be heard in the street along with the chatter of the dining crowd. The service was quick and friendly, the food was very good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I have only good things to say about this restaurant.

We had dinner here one of our last evenings on the island. It's a casual restaurant which had live music when we visited. This place was recommended by locals so we figured it musts be good..and they were right. I had the bean burrito with green sauce which was very good and very filling ( it comes with guacamole but... I have been to this restaurant twice both for dinner and drinks. Once when it was very busy and once when it was practicality empty. The experience was the same. First the one and only positive which is their margaritas! They are excellent if you manage to get a hold of one as the service is horrible. The staff seem... More

Luquin's is popular for both food and drink, i.e., it is a bar as well as a restaurant, and sometimes comes with live music. Between the crowd and the music, it can be noisy (especially on Sunday nites when some other Pahoa restaurants don't seem to open)--whether that noise level is good or bad is a matter of preference, I... Most people go to Luquin's for the booze not the food. The salsa tastes like tomatoes from a can with no spices. I usually order the fajitas which I thing is the best thing on the menu. But if you decide to go, get a lilikoi margarita with li hing mui on the rim. It's enjoyable as long as you... More

The food here might as well come out of a can - in fact, it probably does! On the other hand, it's the only "mexican" restaurant in the vicinity. So if you have a craving for tex-mex and can't make it at home (it would be better!), Luquin's is OK. The last time I went, we had to refresh our... More

It appeared to be one of the few places open for breakfast at 7:00AM in Pahoa. I had the eggs with chorizo. It tasted ok, but it was overcooked and dry. The salsa that came with it helped, but it just wasn't what I hoped for. Service was reasonable. The islands are a bit slow, but that's the deal. I... More

LuQuin's is a popular local hangout, but the only reason I can see why is because the locals have decided to hang out there. We ate dinner and breakfast there on two separate occasions. The dinner was okay, although for the price I was expecting it to be a lot better. The breakfast was also overpriced, although the food that... More
