Fabulous Margaritas

I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is decent. The service can be very slow. The margaritas are great!

Have not found great Mexican food in Hawaii until this place. Good price, family atmosphere and great food. If you find yourself in Pahoa, give it a try.

We were generally pleased with our meal at Luquins. The group included young somethings in their 20's, older ones just 60, and even a 94 year old granny Granny ate the usual three bites of food, no reflection on Luquins, but everyone else showed good spirit, consuming everything in sight. Thanks again, Luquins, for a fine meal in Pahoa!

There doesn't seem to be a lot of middle ground for those who eat here. I've heard raving reviews and I've heard the complete opposite. Our experience was far from adequate. The nachos were so soggy that they were inedible. Burrito was also pretty grim. Don't take our word for it, though, as others have had the completely opposite results.... More

Had breakfast today and it gave me and my husband the runs. Just an average eggs meat potatoes and toast. I'm guessing someone in the kitchen didn't wash their hands. Yuck. Service was poor.

Good basic mexican food. Service was good and plenty of food. Margaritas hit the spot. The bar was very busy.

Being the only local Mexican restaurant, and getting tons of business, you'd think they'd sink some funding into new flooring and a decent parking lot. Aside from this, the food is just not as good as it used to be. Sad, because it could really be a goldmine if some care went into it.

Local folks have been meeting and eating here for years. Laid back rural HI atmosphere. "Try wait." In a hurry? Try McD's. I'd give it 3.5 stars. I wouldn't drive out of my way to get here. But if you're in the vicinity, you'll get good food, nice folks.

Good food at a very fair price. The service can be iffy as the are often crowded but not bad generally. You won't be sorry you ate here.
