I stayed for a week in the local Pahoa area while visiting family. Coming from southern California where the quality and flare of local restaurants are in abundance, we were surprised to find the magic of Kaleo’s in Pahoa. We couldn’t help returning throughout our visit and was surprised by the Aloha each visit. While I didn’t get to try everything... More

We had coconut shrimp, Cobb salad and Mahi wrap. Couple of Kona Big Wave beers to compliment a great meal. All very reasonably priced with good service !

Kaleo's made me extremely happy. I do not usually eat fish, but I went with the ono, and it was superb, as was the beer. The mix of people, from families to cyclists to beach folks, was amusing, and the service excellent. It was clean and relaxing and enjoyable. I too would eat here frequently if I lived in the... I never write reviews. And I'm not even done with my meal here yet. I stumbled upon this place while killing time before heading to the airport. Traveling solo, so I sat at the bar. The bartender and the owner were scrambling behind the bar but they were both so kind. I had a pomegranate margarita and the poke -... More

A diamond in the rough. Kaleo's is in the quaint little town of Pahoa. The town is a 'throw-back' to the old days...but this place is worth your time! The server was very friendly and made quality suggestions. The food was all local fare...and Very Good! Live music playing inside helped cap off a very nice evening out with my... More

Soulless bland food, rude unqualified waitress, lack of personality. Go to Paolo's (next door) - you won't regret it. Unfortunately the only thing that Kaleo's have going for them is parking.

Wonderful ambiance and an interesting town. Food was interesting and tasty. Service was friendly and good quality. Enjoyed lunch so much we returned for afternoon tea on our return from site-seeing.

Pork ribs, steak, pasta dish-- all very good. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Great service & good prices. The restaurant is a big house. They also built extensions for additional dining areas. Live guitar music. Need to make reservations. Casual dining with delicious food.

It's been a while since I've been to Kaleo's. It had been rainy forever, it seemed, and I had enough cabin fever that a friend and I decided to head out to lunch. We were not the only ones, and even for a late lunch, the place was very crowded. Lots of happy sounding conversation all over the place. I... More

Every once in awhile a place comes along that makes you wish there was a sixth star. This is, by far, one of the best places I have ever eaten at. We were on the island for a week and ate there several times because we simply couldn't stay away. Regardless of what we chose the flavors and spices were... More
