Great local food

A nice relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. Server was nice and explained everything. One thing stood out, the friendliness and politeness of the parking attendant! He was a nice young man and was very helpful in answering some questions we had about Pahoa town. I didn't get his name but I would... read more

Friendly staff. The dinner options were not as good as hoped. Not many choices in Pahoa, so this might be the best place in town.

When you first arrive, there was a young man who showed us where to park in the gravel parking lot. I thought that it was nice. We saw our friends who were already seated so we made our way to the table. No greeting or smile from the hostess at all. There was only one waiter for the entire restaurant... More

We ate here twice during out stay. The staff are excellent and it has a really good atmosphere. There is nothing wrong with the food - best with nice fresh fish - but, like a lot of American food, it can go wrong when they try to be a bit fancy or lay on the batter too thickly. On the... More

Kaleo's Bar and Grill in Pahoa is a class act, from the parking lot attendant, to the serenade of live Hawaiian music, tasteful decor, attentive waitstaff, and absolutely fantastic food! Eat here for a relaxing, memorable evening. Reservations recommended.

Grabbed an early dinner with my girlfriend before heading to puna for the evening. Was pleasantly surprised with friendly service and tasty food. Walked down the rest of Pahoa from here.

First the good news... the cuisine is exceptional. My favorite is the prime rib and I always ask for and get the end cut. Another dish on the least expensive side is the Chicken Katsu - this I usually get at least 2x month for take out - yes they do take out, but don't bet on it on a... More

Kaleo's is a dining experience. Everything we have eaten there is fabulous. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is outstanding. This is a place that we visit at least once a month and take any friends to it. As B&B owners we recommend it to our guests!
