Cute restaurant with nice atmosphere. The appetizers were very tasty with fresh fish and large hamburgers. Great place to eat after spending the day at the volcano and getting close to the lava flow to the Pahoa area

Our B&B hostess recommended thi restaurant and I am very glad that she didn't stir us wrong. We came here pretty late, 10 min before closing. There we still many people on a Saturday night. They seated us, got our orders and brought our food so timely. I ordered the Kalbi ribs and my boyfriend ordered the prime rib. They... More

An upscale feel in a town that has more of an "old west" feel. Promptly seated, menu and specials explained, appetizer out quickly, food hot, and good. For Hawaii the price seemed right on the mark.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants until our last visit. While the food was ok--the service we received was absolutely horrendous. The blonde waitress who works there has no customer service skills and has no business dealing with the public. We used to dine at the restaurant several times a month but we will never go back... My family visits Hawaii often and usually stays near Pahoa. Kaleo's is one of our go to restaurants in an area that is not very touristy so there isn't a large selection. The calamari and poke at Kaleo's are some of the best I've ever had and every meal I've had there has been delicious. I had the tempura cod... More

We were staying in Pahoa area and locals told us to go to Kaleo's. We had a really good meal here! We were told the Kalua Pork was excellent and that is what we ordered. It really was very good - tender and flavorful! We also ordered calamari to start and loved that it was coconut crusted. Service was also... More

I like Kaleos. They have both "modern Hawaiian" and (fancified) local dishes on the menu, all at reasonable prices for upscale dining. Everything was very good (particularly the coconut shrimp), even if some dishes lacked the "wow" factor. I would certainly eat here again when in Pahoa. We had good service, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is laid back... More

Recommended by the staff at Lava Ocean Tours, this is a popular spot and a wide selection of food is very good and reasonably priced.
