Was good after hiking the trails of Volcano Park. Food was OK, nothing to scream about. But pies are excellent; be sure to take some home with you.

Firstly, found this little diner (yup, its real authentic diner) - nothing fancy, nothing pretentious - while driving around to the southern most tip of the Big Island! They say they are the most southern restaurant in the USA! We stopped in for a quick lunch and were not disappointed. Both had the BBQ Pulled Pork - it does not... More

I had the katsu chicken here for lunch and it was good. I don't think they offer wine. Might be nice to add. They close early, like 7pm!

We did our research so knew this was a casual place, also there are not many options in the area. We stopped for dinner and fortunately we just beat the rush. We got our orders in and confirmed that yes we could bring in our own wine. Perfect! I ordered the macadamia crusted chicken and it was fantastic! The waitress... More

highly dissapointed, given other reviews. $3.50 for a cup of coffee and $5.00 for a piece of pie for two is $17.00. Good stuff, but not worth that. Indiffent service and flies buzzing about sealed the deal--you can do better.

We were staying next door to the restaurant, so we visited it frequently. The food is good, but the service seemed a little slow. Of course, we noticed a slower pace in Hawaii and it didn't bother us too much on vacation. The weekends had musical groups playing and there was always customers. At times, there was a line to... Stopped here for lunch with a group of six on the way to Volcano, based on a guidebook recommendation. It's a local hangout as well as catering to the tourists, and the Fujimotos still oversee everything. We sat out on the porch in front. Food was a bit on the pricy side, which is probably normal for a more out... More

We ended up here after a day at Volcano National Park. It has a local diner feeling, nothing fancy. There was a local duo playing and some very enthusiastic local listeners, which made it lots of fun. My husband's blackened fish was fantastic, the rest of the food was fairly average, but the pie... Omg the pie. It didn't look... More

Surprised this place was open on Christmas day. We were traveling from Kona to the Black Sand Beach and finally to Volcanoes National Park. Our group got hungry after frolicking at the beach for a while and we ended up backtracking to Naalehu after an internet search and confirmatory phone call stating that indeed, they were open on Christmas day.... Enjoyed the simple, local food and local experience. Bbq pulled pork sandwich was amazing. My friend said the pie was awesome but I was too full to verify this. Lol
