Laid back greasy spoon

Southern most bar in the US! Came here after a long, hot walk to and from the Green Sand Beach. Pretty low key and casual. Beer by the pitcher. Food was ok. Had the Loco Moco which was good

We stopped for a beer just to do it, but had lunch. Real locals place. One of us ordered Lau Lau, which was "interesting". The BLT was pretty good, but the place was not clean. Couldn't eat in the bar area because of smokers, so sat in a "closed" area and wiped mouse turds off the windowsill with a napkin.... More

A must-stop for lunch between Hilo & Kailua-Kona. The Moco Loco is a "heart-stopper" and the Kalua Pork w/ cabbage is as good as it gets. Always entertaining patrons on hand!

This is one of those nice surprise hole in the walls that you always hope to find. The food was great. The service fast. The couple selling jewelry outside were very enjoyable to talk to. We could have stayed for hours talking and obtaining an authentic Hawaiian education. It would eat here again. Scored 3 stars only as its a... More

I'm not quite sure why others have written their respective reviews but we were in the area in January of this year (2015) and ate there four times and loved the place. Their burgers were about the best we had ever had and the fries were perfect. Service and wait times were better than average. I highly reccommend it unless... More

Shaka's is known as The Most Southern Bar in the United States" They have a nice menu of meat, chicken, and fish. This is a great place to be among the local people of the area. They have entertainment on the weekends. It is much larger than it looks from the road. The main parking is in the back. It... More

I ordered the fish but it was a little overdone. The staff were lovely and had their kids serve us. Would be nice if they had a better wine selection - they only offered chardonnay.
