They have great choices for flavors and the taste is awesome as well. This is a Perfect stop over coming back from beach. Can not go wrong.

When visiting the Big Island of Hawaii, you need to treat yourself to Gio's Gelato and Italian Pastry. Gio handcrafts his gelato and offers a variety of flavors to please any palate. The Tiramisu is 'to die for' as well as the peanut butter, double chocolate, and mint. I list those because I have tried those flavors and plan to... More

Many wonderful gelato flavors to choose from but save room for the pastries. To die for. Good stopping place for supplies or a little treat on the way from Kona to Volcanoes or Place of Refuge. You could take pastries with you but ours never made it past the parking lot! Additional picnic items at the Kona's Own Fine Foods... More

My wife and I stopped here for a quick snack while out driving around on our last day on the big island. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and she sure knew how to prepare a crepe. After our lunch we decided to have some of the Gelato and I spotted the pastries. The Carrot cake was to... More

If you wan to be teleported back to Italy (from a culinary point of view, that is) do a little trip south of Kailua-Kona to Gio's. The pastries are amazing, so is the gelato. We never miss an opportunity to visit and have never been disappointed. I know you are likely craving the gelato right when you come in. Trust... More

Right next door to Annie's burgers is Gio's Gelato and the one gelato we had was a meld of three flavours in one of chocolate, Kona coffee and coconut and it was divine! The pastries also looked fantastic and they had an espresso machine which we would have tried out but we were SO full from Annie's and gelato.

Sensational gelato -- I had the lilikoi mixed with dark chocolate. I'm glad I can't get this at home, because I'd gain 80 pounds.....

This place is great - a small shop with true Italian quality crepes, pastries and gelato - though we only stumbled on it by accident, since it is just two doors down from highly rented Annie's burger place on highway 11 a few miles south of Kailua - Kona. The crepes are great (thin and crisp - not thick and... More

Gio is a true European artist with gelato and pastries. The pastries are works of art that taste great.

After attempting to find a good bakery on the Big Island, we happened upon Gio's -- and were pleased with their delicious, freshly-made pastries. They had an excellent variety of offerings that we sampled over several visits :) The gelato was also yummy as well... Service was ok too... If you have a sweet tooth and are headed south of... More
