If it is your lunch time order ahead since this is not Subway. Not as cheap but twice as good. Lots of local ingredients and herbs. Breads can be hard so if that is an issue ask for them soft. Get your seasonings on the side unless you know what you like. they have some good but limited choices. You... More

One of those places that puts a high premium on quality ingredients and local products. I had something with shrimp and avocado. It was great. There were also edible flowers on our salads. The coffee was local and good. Our waiter was very nice. That's about all I can remember, but I really liked and would definitely go back!

The small but cozy interior is decorated in orange hues as the name might suggest. We chose to eat outdoors in the back, where we were joined by a friendly black cat. Limited menu, but they accommodate all diets from gluten-free to vegan to omnivore and are conscious of their food sources. Given the lack of vegan dining options in... More

We stopped here on the way to the volcano for lunch. It is not a fancy upscale place and it is near a busy road. However, the couple running the place make a nice little authentic lunch and serve it with a smile. We sat outside in the back area and so were not troubled by traffic. Their cat, "Mama"... More

We visited due to a very high rating. I had turkey rueben. She had ono casadilla. Lemonaid was a riot of flavor high in vitamin C with hibiscus flavoring. Price was a bit over our budget $40. Owner caters to your wish and desire. Very small and basic dining room. I'd give it a 4 star due to healthy cuisine.

We stopped for a late lunch after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. Everything, including the service was outstanding. The salads were very fresh, using quality greens that had lots of taste. We had wraps and sandwiches with each item have its own signature taste, separating them from your basic wrap or sandwich. The coffee is served at your table in a... More

Focus on fresh and local results in wonderful full meal salads and numerous sandwhich wraps to select. Salad ingredients tasted liked picked this morning served by noon...wonderful! Some may object to traffic noise since cafe sits right beside hwy 11 but try to achieve zen state by focusing on your food! It's that good

This little cafe is a great place for lunch. Everything was freshly made and delicious. The salad tasted as if the greens were just picked, and the tamari/lime dressing was light and flavorful.

I learned in my travels to Hawaii that they call food "grinds" I believe it is Pegion? I love any family run restaurant and Diane and Dayrl are really terrific the manager of the Bed and Breakfast that we stayed at (Kealakekua Bay Bed and Breakfast) suggested we try Nasturtium when we requested a dinning experience that was low key...
