We stayed at the Waikolo Hilton resort and drove up to Waimea for an unplanned dental visit. While in town we sought out "the best" breakfast joint recommendations from the dentist office receptionist. She had high praise for the Hawaiian Style Cafe (and it was on our way back out of town). We stopped and the first thing we noticed... More

This is the place to go if you are a hungry eater and want a lot of food for a great price! My husband and I went here to eat breakfast while visiting Waimea after reading about it on TripAdvisor. We had no wait at all. We were seated at the long tables in the front and had the pancakes... More

We noticed a line outside when we drove by in the morning on our way to the East side of the island, but on our return there was fortunately not a wait. The staff was uniformly warm and pleasant, the menu was interesting and varied and the food was tasty and much more than filling. You're not going to mistake... More

Just ate here after seeing reviews from my Tripadvisor buddies. It was definitely worth the drive up from Waikoloa. A couple tips: 1. They only take cash...but have an ATM inside if you forget. 2. If there is a wait...make sure you find the clipboard inside the door and sign your name. There is no hostess so you will be... More

Looking at my title, here's what you need to know about HSC: the portions are huge, and they ONLY take cash. You can do 1/2 orders on loco-moco and similar options, and they do charge $4 if you're goingt o share. The food is very tasty, and the envinroment is very much like an old-school diner. We love eating at... More

We stopped here on the way to ziplining and had an amazing breakfast. The pancakes were as big as hub caps, and they were the SIDE ITEM for my son's steak and eggs! I had the Hawaiian french toast which was very sweet and tasty. The portions for everything were enormous, and our family of 4 spent about $13 per... More

We had breakfast here twice on a recent trip to Big Island. I ordered the standard omelet breakfast (which came with sausage and 2 pancakes). I felt like I was at a Man vs Food challenge. The food was great and service was better. Wait staff is super friendly. The second round I backed off and ordered the "Lite" breakfast.... More

In a way, I'm glad this restaurant isn't right around the corner from where we live, because if it was I would surely weigh 1,000 lbs! The food here is eye-poppingly generous, but it's also so delicious, it's virtually impossible not to hoover up every tasty bit. They offer amazing local delights - lau lau, chicken long rice, kalua pig... More

We always have to come here every time err visit this island. PROS: you get massive quantities of food. The food is reasonably priced. The quality of food is good. Servers are friendly and helpful. CONS: Bring cash(cash only). Seating is limited and the wait can be long. You can have breakfast or lunch from the opening of the restaurant.... More

A local told us about this place and we decided to check it out. Small quiet place with friendly staff. Good food with large portions at reasonable prices.
