Hawaiian Style Cafe for taste of Local Food

We try to eat here every time we visit the Big Island of Hawaii. Very large portions, everyone had a take home box. Tried the big breakfast which had huge pancakes! Great for local food.

The restaurant is a little bit of a drive from most resorts, but well worth the drive. They take cash only! They do have an ATM on site if you forgot. We went for breakfast 2 mornings and enjoyed the food both times. The pancakes are HUGE. One pancake (a half order) will be more than a grown man can... More

Bring and appetite to this place! Stopped by this Sunday morning around 9am having driven up from Waikoloa. My wife daughter and I sat at the horseshoe counter which was two thirds locals and the rest visitors. The two waitresses taking care of things were very pleasant. The locals encouraged the visitors on as they tried to consume their gigantic... More

We learned about Hawaiian style cafe from some locals on the kohala coast. They were BIG dudes, and they said the biggest bang for your buck on the big island was Hawaiian style cafe. We were not disappointed! We ordered the banana macadamia nut pancakes and the prime rib moco loco. Both dishes were enormous, and we all (4 of... More

A lot of locals we met recommended us this place, so we came here to try. It was so good that we came here twice during our 5 days 4 nights stay in Big Island! It was sooooo fantastic! The pancakes are sooood good. We ordered a set which came with 2 pancakes. And each pancake was the size of... More

This place was amazing! My husband ordered a meat omelet that came with a side of pancakes. The pancakes were huge and could have been an order on their own. I kept eating off his plate because it was the best omelet I've tasted and the pancakes were unbelievably good. I got the lite breakfast with the Haupia pancake which... More

We came to the Waimea location based on a local's recommendation. Apparently on the weekends, the lines are out of the door. Pro: - Amazing food. We got pancakes (that are bigger than our faces) and loco moco. The loco moco was soo delicious. I now regret that I didn't finish all of it. - HUGE portion. bigger than cheesecake... More

We enjoyed breakfast so much the first time, we went back again the last day of our vacation. The portions are huge! With the omlette you get two huge pancakes and hashbrowns. Even though though the pancakes are large, they are so light and fluffy. We also had the loco moco on our second visit which was tasty as well.... More

We had a short wait, 6 parties on the list before us. They had had some booth but mostly counter style seating. I ordered the house made loco moco and a pancake. The portions were huge and very tasty. Did not need the plate size pancake although it tasted very good. Relatively cheap meal and so far the best breakfast... More

large variety of delicious, reasonably priced, and generously portioned food. The kali Ribs (we had the boneless ones which were tender and lean) and the hand formed fresh ground beef Loco Moco were the best things on the menu. Only thing I did not like was their fried chicken (dry and a bit greasy). The combo plates are not as... More
