My two traveling companions and I were looking for a place with some local flare to have lunch on our last Sunday on the Big Island - there were a lot of fancy resort areas with sleek, sterile, upscale restaurants but we didn't want that. After lots of riding around, all through Waikoloa (no luck) we ended up back in... More

They served the best Chile Relleno I have ever eaten. The chiles were meaty, robust and flavorful and the cheese was creamy. The atmosphere is not touristy; there were more locals eating there than what looked to be tourist - which I consider to be a big plus.

While the food is decent, the beer makes it worth it! AMAZING, and you can't find it outside of Hawaii. I brought back a few bottles in my suitcase (securely in bubble wrap), and I can't wait to go again. The White Mountain Porter is amazing because it's made with Kona coffee. The Golden Sabbath beer is also delicious. I... More

Went there to say we went to the 2 breweries on the big island. Service was great. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Great fish burrito as well as the beer. Great place to stop in and have some eats and drinks!!!

A chef friend recommended this place for it's Big Island brews, and they are excellent, with several selections always on tap. The Mexican menu is large but when we stopped, they were out of guacamole and the food was only "okay." But it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the beer is terrific, and the atmosphere is casual, so... We stopped for a quick bite after some shopping. We were immediately greeted and everyone there was super friendly! This is an 'after work' hangout I believe. Bar side was hopping with locals who all knew each other. If I lived in this town I would hang out here too! The food was fresh, tasty and very reasonable. I had... More

I have always passed this place driving through Waimea but never had time to stop. So, for my birthday we stopped here after a nice scenic drive by the ocean, up to Hawi, then taking the mountain road downwards to Waimea. Incredible views, bring your camera. Had to try the White Mountain Porter since it received the Herb and Spice... More

Not sure I'd drive up here just for this...but if you are in the area this is some of the better Mexican food you will find on the islands. The salsas were disappointing but burritos fairly good. But you probably came for the beer....which is generally pretty good. We all did taster series and they have a wide variety of... More

We came here on the recommendation of friends who just moved to Hawaii from the East Coast. The Mexican food is decent, with good kid's options too, but the beer is EXCELLENT. While I can agree with another recent poster that the chips and salsa given when we sat down aren't the best, our actual entrees were very good (fish... More

I rushed home after having lunch to write this review so the passion of my distaste for this place would be "fresh" in my mind which is not a word that could be associated with this establishment. Lets begin with the chips and salsa which are the starting benchmark for any restaurant alleging to serve good Mexican food.......the chips were... More
