A chef friend recommended this place for it's Big Island brews, and they are excellent, with several selections always on tap. The Mexican menu is large but when we stopped, they were out of guacamole and the food was only "okay." But it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the beer is terrific, and the atmosphere is casual, so... We stopped for a quick bite after some shopping. We were immediately greeted and everyone there was super friendly! This is an 'after work' hangout I believe. Bar side was hopping with locals who all knew each other. If I lived in this town I would hang out here too! The food was fresh, tasty and very reasonable. I had... More

I have always passed this place driving through Waimea but never had time to stop. So, for my birthday we stopped here after a nice scenic drive by the ocean, up to Hawi, then taking the mountain road downwards to Waimea. Incredible views, bring your camera. Had to try the White Mountain Porter since it received the Herb and Spice... More

Not sure I'd drive up here just for this...but if you are in the area this is some of the better Mexican food you will find on the islands. The salsas were disappointing but burritos fairly good. But you probably came for the beer....which is generally pretty good. We all did taster series and they have a wide variety of... More

We came here on the recommendation of friends who just moved to Hawaii from the East Coast. The Mexican food is decent, with good kid's options too, but the beer is EXCELLENT. While I can agree with another recent poster that the chips and salsa given when we sat down aren't the best, our actual entrees were very good (fish... More

I rushed home after having lunch to write this review so the passion of my distaste for this place would be "fresh" in my mind which is not a word that could be associated with this establishment. Lets begin with the chips and salsa which are the starting benchmark for any restaurant alleging to serve good Mexican food.......the chips were... More

We really enjoyed this nice, cozy Mexican restaurant. We went there right as it opened in the morning, and the staff was really attentive. The food was great!

My 24-year-old daughter and I enjoyed this local, relaxed restaurant and brewhaus. The friendly staff lit up as they explained their varied craft beers. Big Island Brewhaus's menu covered sandwiches, pizzas and salads. The steak and salad combo was plenty for both of us. It was fun watching for Big Island Brewhaus microbrew drafts as we traveled the island. Bar... More

Growl for the Growlers. They were going out of the place left and right. Food was tasty and hot. Funk and food with a brew tossed on top. I opted for iced tea and even that was great. I have been there about 5-6 times and each time I try a new dish. The beer is fresh brewed and sent... More

We chose this restaurant because they brew their own beer. It definitely didn't disappoint! Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. The beer was outstanding, along with their food. The atmosphere was very laid back and it seemed like a lot of locals were there. It was a great choice for dinner!
